I was just watching a music video I've been working on, and I thought of this thread idea. Post your hobbies that you're embarrassed or think awkward to talk about. For me, I download cartoons and make music videos out of them. Maybe my subconscious likes to pretend its a professional music video director. >>; Whenever I show my friends my videos they laugh, though they admit they ARE good. razz

I know a person that wrote the name of their crush on their pillow in bold black marker. I know another person who used to eat their scabs when they were little, as well as dog food.

I don't think Im that weird.
But I do sweet FA all day apart from sit on Gaia and Myspace.

I don't thinnk eating scabs or writing someones name on a pillow is a hobby though, unless they do it alll the time to pass time.

I have no shame really so Im not ashamed of anything xD

well anyway
i make music with fruity loops and dotn tell that many peopel about it cause i dont think my songs are that great, and i get embarresed when i see peopel listening to it >.<. i probably do something else but i just FORGET.
oh yeah i make music videos too but i usually wantpeopel to see them...cause they are COOL, and they have me in them instead of cartoons..

I generally don't tell most people that I read manga and watch anime. There's so much else going on in my life that I don't really have to, but I suppose the root of it is that when I was in high school it wasn't really all that acceptable to watch animated shows. Now I just don't mention it out of habit, but I've become a lot more open to others and accepting of myself, so if the topic comes up, I don't lie or try to hide anymore.

I have an entire bin filled with manga that I still read over and over again.

I generally don't let people know that, while I write witty, happy little stories for the general public to enjoy, the ones that sit well hidden in my computer are dark, gory, and generally scary horrible. I don't think people would understand that I only write them to get the negative feelings out. I'd probably only get labeled emo or goth or some other ridiculous thing.

Well, I meant hobby to be a very loose word. And if someone was eating their scabs every other day, I sure as hell WOULD call that a hobby of some kind. XB

I do something kinda weird. I tie up my red blanket in such a way that it looks like I'm
wearing a dress. It's kind of a strange thing that I like to pretend I'm wearing a dress since
I'm a guy,but it's more common than you think.

It's not exactly a private thing either. I even showed my best friend and she took pictures
that you can now see on her myspace!

I did similar things with journals. My mom got a hold of one and read some very disturbing entries. It was a loooong day. And that's why I don't keep journals with my thoughts in them any more!

Writing is a good way to get negative feelings out, but I respect your right to privacy. No one should have to read them if you don't want them to, but maybe some day you will look back and find a cool ]idea hidden in there somewhere. I've done that a couple times. :]

Yes, it is kind of contradicting, isn't it? But the beauty of the internet is that it is anonymous. Unless one chooses otherwise.

Plus, hush-hush doesn't have to be something completely secret, it could be something you're not comfortable talking about with people you don't know well, or are trying to impress. Like if I was getting interviewed for a job in the music/arts industry (something I won't ever do, this is hypothetical), I would not brag 'Oh ya, I made videos out of such-and-such a cartoon! It was illegal, lol!' Interviewers: -blank stare- "Oh...that's nice..."
