i absolutely love her voice! she's so original and doesn't give an icky sweetness to her songs.
if only today's artists would follow her example ------> originality and sincerity.

I can't stand her voice. And this is coming from someone who likes Joanna Newsom.

Her voice is very unique, very Bronx-y accented with her Russian roots, which brings a whole new sense of originality into the mix, which is again something great. :]

Also, her songs maybe nonsensical, but at the same time make a great deal of sense. Like her song "Ghost of Corporate Future," with lyrics like 'put dirt balls in your pockets / and take off both your shoes / people are just people / people are just people / people are just people / like you.' It may sound silly to a lot of people, but at the same time makes complete sense to others, which is why she's definitely on my top twenty list :]
