"Now Presenting Lord Xainder Maxwell" the Door man shouted as He walked in to the palace's Grand Hall. He walked to the garment boy and placed his hat and cape to be looked after till the end of the ball

King Metharius stood up and spread out his arms in greeting.
"Lord Maxwell! A face I haven't seen in so long. Do come forward!"

Jacqueline lowered her eyes as her father stood up in salutations to a guest. If not for the music... she would already be dying of boredom. Is this all they do? She mused to herself.

"Ah, My King it is good to see you and your daughter are in good health" he said as he knelled "My mother brings her deepest apologies of her absence, with my fathers illness and all"
"My feet hurt..." grumbled Selisha. Her strappy high heels seemed to be carving patterns into her pale feet. Not good...
As the silver carriage stopped, she swung the door open lazily while trying to fix her shoe at the same time. She hopped towards the door on one foot, but suddenly stopped, pausing to observe a beautiful blonde girl ...
She sighed. She was verry bored, There wern't even any good looking guys here... exept for the one talking with the king but he was much too ........ formal for her taste. She stood up, leaving her shoes under the bench. She walked around the room looking for something anything of interest. But there was nothing that held her attention. She wished it was the full moon. That was something exilerating.
She found herself on the dancefloor, dancing alone, thinking of other things she could be doing.

King Metharius signaled for him to rise.
"How unfortunate. When you leave I shall send with you medicines of all sorts as to help your father. He is a good man, one whom I'd expect can barely stand being in bed all day."
The king paused.
"May I present my daughter, Jacqueline."

Jacqueline studied the man with intelligent eyes... remembering to be polite, she curtsied.
"Lord Maxwell. I'm delighted you could make it this evening."

They were next, she observed, as the doorman prepared to call their names.

"Prince Joseph and Princess Aria Silious of Spain!" the man called, and the two walked into the ballroom. Aria kept her eyes on the floor.

"Brother, why did I have to come along?" she whispered, looking around the room.
* as i stand alert at Jacqueline's side as with my fellow knights stationed all over the area*

*i glace over to the princese. admiring her bueatyful dress *
'So she is the one...' she thought, smirking to herself. 'Quite pretty, I must say.' Selisha took in a deep breath, straightening herself out. smoothing down her strange 'blackish-roseish' dress, she slowly walked towards the entrance.. whimpering at each step.

"Lady Selisha Nagiira!" the doorman called. Selisha gave a weak smile, as she continued to make way for the door.

Aria slipped away from her brother, looking to speak with the princess of the country. That was really the only reason she did come, to speak with someone whome she considered a friend. She saw her waiting by the Kings throne and waited.

"Lord Maxwell. I'm delighted you could make it this evening."

"My have you grown since I last saw you" he kissed her hand " and many thanks to thee my King, shall I take leave and join the ball"
A few people asked her to dance but the answer was always the same: "No"
She didn't know why, but none of them seemed to suit her fancy. They were all on her list of things that wern't good enough.
1. too tall/Too short.
2. Too formal
3. Over-confident
4. Too pridefull
5. Not romantic

It seemed foolish, even to her that she had a list like that. She had always dreamed of a fairy tale love when she was young but she knew it would never happen... she now wanted someone who longed for adventure as much as she did. who hated these stupid balls as much as she did... She sighed. She knew that nowhere in the whole, wide, world was there anyone like that.... exsept for her.
Kala steped out of her carige. A polite smile plastered on her face. Her escorte didn't smile at all. His hair was dark and his face was blank. Kala wore a black dress that hung over low around her feet. Her boots hidden beneath her dress. A dark purple mask covered her face, and her broight orange hair stood on the back of her neck in curles. Slowlt the entered the castle doors. "Master Drakus Tone and Lady Kala Robin." Annonced the door man.
The king took his seat once more and watched the dancers with a happy gleam in his eye. He stole a glance at his daughter... she seemed unhappy-- in all her grace... it didn't even look as if she wanted to be here. He frowned.
"Jacqueline, dear. Do go and dance! Enjoy yourself for once."

Jacqueline shot her father a frightened look. She whispered quietly enough for only him to hear.
"But father... what if... what if something were to go wrong?"
But her father wouldn't hear it. She shooed her off onto the ballroom floor, taking her only escape she headed towards a large table of beverages. Jacqueline clenched and unclenched her right hand irritatedly, she'd go onto the balcony and air her hand out after getting something to drink. Her hand felt like it was on fire from the scratchy material of her gloves.
Shino relized she was thirsty, and headed towards the beveages. a silver haired girl was standing there, looking rather iritated and she recognized her imeadiately. "Hey, Weren't you that girl dangling from that window?" She asked while she swirrled the wine in her goblet, '' Rather foolish dont you think? but also exciting." She flashed her even white teeth in a smile, then glanced around the room "...boring isn't it?..... so what's your name?"

Prophet

Aria, seeing the young man leave, approached the throne. "Your Majesty," she said, addressing the king and bowing Low. She then walked to the concessions table and turned her attention to Jaqueline. "Long time, no see, eh?" she said, forgetting she was in public and expected to be polite.
"Drink," murmured Selisha, " I want to drink..." she licked her lips at the thought of the alchohol on her toungue. Smiling to herself, Selisha made her way to the bar.

"A beer, please." She leaned on her elbows as she patiently waited for her drink, stealing a glance at the people around her, swarming at the princess.
