THE FORUM-TANS OF GAIA

GCD-tan
(Gaia Community Discussion Forum)
GCD-tan is one of the most prominent tans, if only because she sees fit to make everyone's business her business. She seems friendly enough, but the moment she comes across something she doesn't like, she flies into a fit of complaining. She has an even worse habit of yelling at the other -tans for complaining about anything. Also, she's rather obsessive, and sometimes can be a bit oblivious to other's feelings.
GCD-tan hangs out the most with GD-tan. They are two sisters, and are related to quite a few of the other -tans, as well. GCD-tan is actually younger than GD-tan, but is about the same height anyway. The two disagree on many matters- GCD-tan thinks GD-tan is immature and annoying for her crude tongue and utter disregard for other's feelings and welfare... while GD-tan thinks that GCD-tan is pathetically, hopelessly obsessed with silly things and that her "maturity" is just as much an act as her own immaturity. Despite their bickering, any of the tans will agree no pair is closer than they are. GCD-tan's secret weapon is her supply of deadly Throwing Spoons.
Exchange-tan
(The GAIA Exchange)
Exchange-tan is best summed up in one word: Entrepreneurial. She's an enterprising gal, she's richer than god, and she knows it. She's fairly good-natured, though, and most of the other tans like her... if only because they know that by being her friend, they can get the hook-ups for loaned MCs. Exchange-tan is always looking to make a buck one way or the other; she'll put forth even the most ridiculous amount of effort to make even the smallest profit. However, she still considers herself a fair, reasonable businesswoman and is willing to sacrifice her profit margin to do the right thing... usually, anyway. No one knows exactly how much gold she has, but she has hinted that the only person ever to be more rich was Gambino himself, in his prime.
Guild-tan
(Gaia Guilds)
Guild-tan is perhaps the shyest of the tans. She often hides from the other tans, especially when they're in any sort of conflict- even the friendly kind between GCD-tan and GD-tan. She is very afraid of the outside world and the dangers in it, so she is cautious to a fault. Because of this she is always wearing some kind of armor and lugging around a giant shield, making her much slower than most of the other tans. Her shyness causes her to do a lot of talking to herself.
Bin-tan
(Recycling Bin)
With nothing left to her except the garbage she lives in, she is the neglected orphan of the -tans. Despite her pitiful state, she is very spunky, energetic, and hopeful. She is also missing one of her eyes, and most of one of her legs. For reasons never made quite clear, almost all of the -tans seem to have an irrational hate for her. The only tan who is ever friendly to her is CB-tan, who is too childish to know better. However, CB-tan is too hyperactive and bouncy for Bin-tan to keep up with her in her handicapped state, so usually she ends up all alone. She stammers a lot and refers to herself in the third person.
Jede-kun
(Gaming Discussion Forum)
There are very few male "tans", but Jede-tan is one of them. Jede rarely leaves his home except for tabletop D&D on Friday nights, new comic book deliveries on Wednesdays, and all game releases. Very few of the tans ever talk to Jede-kun, but... believe it or not,
you've already met him! Jede-kun recently had to be hospitalized when he donated half of his blood for money so he could buy a Gii, only to have the money stolen by his own pet Momo. Especially worrying is that no human should have survived that kind of blood loss. The other tans look at him as a loser and an embarassment. They're pretty much right.
TF-kun
(Test Forum)
Isolation from the other tans has made TF-kun into a pretty weird guy, and he's barely capable of functioning in normal society. He can't accomplish much by himself, but when the other tans bring him their half-baked ideas, he's usually able to fine-tune them down to perfection. He doesn't complain when given work to do, but starts to freak out if anyone talks to him. The tans try to keep their distance from him; they leave work for him to do on his desk, and take the finished drafts from his desk when he's done.
He's pretty much incapable of dressing himself, but for whatever reason he always tries (key word is "tries"
wink to look presentable. Every day he forgets to put on at least one article of clothing, but what he does remember looks neat, sharp, and professional.
TF-kun is neighbors with MT-tan, but they don't talk at all. TF-kun's only real friend is AF-tan, even though he finds her greatly annoying whenever she interrupts his work. Rumor has it he used to date AF-tan's older sister, XD-tan, before she left Gaia... this may have something to do with their relationship...
MT-tan
(Memorable Threads Forum)
MT-tan's heart is as empty as her name suggests. She lives in the Barton Local Library, and watches over the archives of events and memories. It's not really clear how long she's been there... no one remembers when she moved in. Nonetheless, she couldn't have been around too long, as she is young, lovely, and in the (theoretical) prime of her life... No one ever visits MT-tan except for GCD-tan, who uses the library's resources to formulate wild theories about the promminent figures of the land of Gaia. As a result, MT-tan has apparently developed a huge crush on GCD-tan, which GCD-tan is utterly unaware of. To be fair, she's never really stuck around long enough for them to even have a conversation.
Her one neighbor is the eccentric TF-tan. It seems that TF-tan knows MT-tan, though they never talk. He may be the only person in Gaia who knows how long MT-tan has been there.
