I don't know about you, but my mother hates the fact that I'm into anime. All that I can watch on TV is watered down dubs that are intended for children, so that's all she sees. She says that anime have no plot and no point and that I'm wasting my life on these stupid cartoons.

Do many of you have the same problem? Mine started when my mother walked in on me watching Digimon (dubbed on 4kids) when I was 16. She doesn't seem to understand that anime are only like that in the dubs and that they really have complex and interesting story lines...

My mother ended up forbidding me from watching anime and attending conventions. That all stopped when she got me Satalite in my room where she won't walk in, but she still complains all the time.

I had to wait until I was 18 before I could attend my first convention, Sakura con.

What kind of problems do you have with your parents?

Usually my parents don't think anything of it my mom thinks it might be some kinda phase that i'm going through (NEVERRRR!) scream but my parents just like to joke around about anime like saying phrases that one of the characters just said or saying one of the names of a character that they like over and over again its gets annoying after a while but i live with it. Theres a couple that my parents even said they liked. My mom said if she were younger she would've loved them. The only problem is that if its an anime about demon or it look like witchcraft, demonic, or anything about death, destruction, or depression my dad won't be that fond of it at all.
