Shou followed closely behind Cer as the two headed toward where the reapers liked to reside. She had become a bit more attached to Cer since she had been staying with her for a few weeks. Anytime there was a sign of danger Shou did not hesitate to be the first to attack. The harpies would screech and try to defend themselves after they thought would be an easy attack, but Shou and Cer took them out. Cer could probably tell that Shou had a different attitude about her when it came to being out in a dangerous place. Her focus was all around her, as she tuned into her environment to protect herself and her friend. She let out a long sigh as they got closer to their destination. Cer seemed to have a bit of a different attitude as well. The ghostly flames about her were more aggressive. This was no time to fool around.

After facing the strong winds within the cliff walls, Shou and Cer came upon a huge sight. The great fortress of death. The twisted castle was decorated with skulls, bones and statues of demons. A fine mist covered some of the ground and the presence of evil could be felt by both girls as they landed in the thick mist. Cerrera removed her cloth from her shoulder and let it wrap itself around her scythe which transformed into it's huge black form. Cerrera's instincts told her to remain in the mist. Shou was behind her and watching. As the two moved silently, they didn't see anything around the fortress yet. As they got closer to the drawbridge that would take them inside, a pair of glowing red eyes pierced the darkness and the mist. Cer told Shou to remain still. Slowly a creature came out of the mist, dressed in a tattered robe, it had a skull face with two glowing eyes. It's feet and hands were covered by the robe. As it moved, it seemed to hover rather than walk over the ground. A sneak attack was needed since if the creature spotted the two, it would call to others of its kind to warn them of intruders. Since Shou didn't have a scythe, Cer would have to make the attack. Cerrera got up slowly and told Shou to stay and not to make a single sound. On silent feet, Cer began to track the reapers movements. Quietly she made her way to the reaper and before it could see her, Cer slashed at it with her scythe which caused it to vanish in a fine black mist leaving behind a piece of cloth and a piece of it's scythe. She sighed and picked up the fallen items. Cer waved to Shou without making a sound. Shou got up to join Cer but she tripped on an old tree root and fell with a thud. As she turned around, Shou noticed a reaper coming from behind as it spotted her...
Shou spread her wings and forced herself up into the air. Her big silver wings carried her up high and away from the reaper that was trying to attack her. A few others saw her fly, and so they began to pursue her too. As they swung their scythes and fired at her, she twisted and dodged through the air, continuing to fly around them. She remembered what Cer had taught her. These things werent going to go down by her own attacks. The only way was to either deflect their attacks, or use a scythe like theirs. But... Shou had an idea. She was a very fast flier, and as she moved she timed herself and their shots fired perfectly into attacking each other. This worked for two or the reapers that attacked her. One left. It stood still and watched her as she landed. Its red glowing eyes staring her down. Her wings spread, she took an aggressive stance. Cer came up from behind, slashing the last one that had attacked them both. It vanished into a black mist like the others. Good. Hopefully there wasnt any others. It was time to get out while they still could.

Cerrera collected the items and stuck them into a bag. Seeing more reapers leaving the castle, Cer knew it was time to go. Shou saw Cer signal her that it was time for them to leave. They both took to the sky and managed to avoid any serious confrontations with the reapers. Cerrera told Shou that she had the items needed and they could take them back to the valley. As the two flew, Cerrera used a special chant that she knew. A small portal opened up in the sky, glowing like a spiral of light and when the two flew through it, they found themselves back home. Cerrera landed in front of her home with Shou right behind her. The night was cool and a small breeze was blowing. Cer went into her lovely mansion with Shou so both could freshen up after their adventure. She set the bag of items down and went upstairs to change and clean up. Cer handed Shou a towel and some fresh clothing for her to wear as well.
Shou took the towel in her hand and motioned with her hands toward the bathroom. "Im going to go shower. I shouldnt be too long." She threw the towel over her shoulder and entered the bathroom. It was very large and quite lovely. It reminded her of the bath that her and Eve had at their own home. Stripping down Shou turned on the hot water, which soon caused the room to be covered in steam. She covered herself in the hot water, and scrubbed herself very clean. The hot water felt so good, and it soothed her aches and sore muscles she didnt know were sore until she began to relax. Leaning her head against the shower wall she sighed and closed her eyes. The steam and hot water calmed her down so much, she felt like she could fall asleep.

Dangerous Hunter

The hour was late once more in Darkwood but plenty of activity was going on in the west where the huge base was located. The furnaces were burning the garbage that Darkwood produced, many of Gen's solider drones were busy shoveling in piles of trash and old parts of ships, discarded metals and other old materials. Some of the materials were sold to Wynter so she could craft new weapons from used metal scraps. Smoke stacks produced clean white smoke which would not harm the air or nearby environment. Pillars of fire rose from towers as the furnaces were lit to do away with another day's worth of waste. Meanwhile down in another end of the base, underground where the maze of ice was located, Gen was doing a weapons check of her inventory in the Freezers. Temperatures kept below freezing as she and only herself did these checks unless Nyx or the drone was needed. The marine checked on some items that were kept in the deep cold and kept a list of all the weapons that were stockpiled. One level up from the Freezers and just below the base, the Dynamo Hall was buzzing with life and feeding electricity into Darkwood. The dynamo was responsible for making sure the energy was kept flowing into all areas where it was needed. With all this going on, it was Nyx who was with the drone in one of the upper towers that looked over the base. She figured it was time to call on an old friend who was back home on her home world. Nyx send a signal from the tower that would reach the massive world in which she came from, to a certain old friend who wanted to venture with Nyx long ago but was unable to do so at Nyx's request. The drone remained silent as the signal was sent. Now it was only a matter of time before it reached Cydon and the ears of an old friend named Vex.

Deep within the confines of an old laboratory, various monitors and computer equipment began to flicker on as a mysterious signal was intercepted, its source calculated as somewhere outside of Cydon's orbit. As the lab came to life, many small scouting and maintenance drones entered and began running scans and cleanup procedures, as the lab had been dormant for quite some time. The arrival of the signal had also caused a cloud of what appeared to be dust at first but had been analyzed by one of the maintenance drones as a colony of billions of 'nanytes', to rise from the floor and walls, converging together near a storage tank filled with a glowing blue liquid. Floating within the liquid was a female lifeform, humanoid in appearance but missing her arms and legs. One of the scouting drones flew next to the tank and used the console next to it to initiate a drain and activation of the tank system. Once the blue liquid had been completely drained from the tank, the glass hatch slowly opened to reveal the limbless woman. The cloud of nanytes approached the woman and split into four large clusters, each one forming into metallic legs and arms, and attatched themselves onto the four appropriate sockets on her torso.

As her headpiece received the incoming signal, her eyes slowly opened. Her red eyes flashed on and her pupils rotated as her sight focused and sharpened. She raised one of her arms, which had been formed from one of the nanyte colonies, and clenched her fist. Finding that she had full control of her newly formed limbs, she stepped out from the tank she had been sleeping in and looked around. The lab looked unfamiliar to her, but before she could calculate her location, the signal had caught her attention. As she analyzed it, a small smile crept upon her lips. An old friend was summoning her outside of Cydon, and she felt she had slept long enough. As she exited the lab, she found she wasn't the only one who had received the signal, as several of the staff who had worked in the complex were already directing her toward what appeared to be a loading bay with numerous docked ships. Several of the staff were giving her nervous glances, with the male workers blushing and pointing at her. Looking down at herself, she found that outside of her metallic arms and legs, she was bare. She turned and glared as another cloud of nanytes flew into the loading bay, immediately rushing to her and swirling around her form. As the cloud converged on her, it formed into a flowing blue and black dress. Before she had time to look herself over, one of the chief of staff approached her and briefed her on what was going on.

"Unit 93N0C-YD3, code name 'Vex', your presence is requested to aid in a scouting mission. You will be delivered to the planet Trilune, where unit 047CRD, code name 'Nyx' is waiting for you. Are you all set?"

With a nod and an eager grin, 'Vex' was escorted onto an awaiting transport, where she was clamped down and put into stasis. Once the remaining preparations were complete, the ship was lauched into orbit, flying past the many spanning cities of the cybernetic planet. As Vex slumbered once more, she awaited the sight of her old friend Nyx, who would likely be the first thing she saw once she awoke from stasis.

A night of two moons greeted the solumn forests and plains of Darkwood Valley, and despite the seemingly calm and quiet atmosphere of the land, the small town near Crystalstorm Lake had been on edge since the lycan attack. The town guard had decided it would be best to pool their remaining men into a strong perimeter around the town, rather than sending out hunting parties to seek out the white lycan. From deep within the forest, one such white-furred beast watched from within the shadowy depths. Its violet eyes darted about as it scoped out every bit of movement from the distant town, cautiously keeping out of sight. With a small whine, it turned away and headed back into the embrace of Shadowfang. It had been days since he had encountered the young girl with the green and blue eyes and her small fox friend, and since that day the white lycan had begun to regain a sense of identiy. He had once protected that town from threats, and the girl he had attacked and almost killed that night had once been his adopted daughter. To many, he had once been known as Abel Tesmihr. Now he was reduced to a wandering beast of the night, lost and confused as to how he would regain what he had lost. The town would never accept him in his current form, and he would likely be cut down by any of the valley's more powerful residents if he were to be seen. And Aria? By now she had surely discovered what he was, but could he bear to face her again?

After hearing reports from the towns folk and the guards about a lycan in the area, Lenore took it upon herself to head out into the dark forest and hunt down this creature before it could harm another living soul. She brought with her, weapons made of silver along with a gun that could fire silver bullets. Once she had all her items together, Lenore left her home in the Darkwood Plains and made her way through the town. She talked to a few people on her way and stopped by Eve's shop to purchase a few candles for her lantern. Lighting a candle and using her lantern, Lenore reached the boarders of Shadowfang. The forest always looked menacing in the night. Sounds of wild animals could be heard along with the glowing eyes of many beasts. She made her way in, seeing the ghostly flames that hovered about. The light of the three moons above was slowly beginning to be blocked out by the thick canopy of leaves from the tall, old trees. Using the lantern, Lenore searched for signs of the beast by inspecting foot prints in the ground, slash marks made in the thick bark of trees and smells. The lycan wasn't far, she could almost sense it lurking in the shadows and making it's way between shadows. She could tell it was biding it's time....

Abel's beastly ears perked up as he heard what sounded like a human or some similar form wandering in the nearby woods. He had been accustomed to the sounds of the wildlife even in his human form and could easily discern the presence of something not of the forest, and his newfound senses had made him far more adept in the practice. Its slow movement meant it was something moving cautiously through the forest, most likely tracking him. He suddenly took heed of his trail and looked about, calculating his next move. If he continued to run on foot, his pursuer would only need follow his footprints to inevitably find him. With a quiet leap, he took hold of the branches up above and would scout the area from within the trees, leaving the ground trail cold. He made his way towards the source of the sound, carefully picking the branches he moved upon to find the most stable and solid, as a misstep or poorly chosen branch would result in him plummeting to the ground below, where the pursuer would have a field day with him. He was ever silent as he finally reached the new presence in the forest. His sharpened eyes and enhanced night vision allowed him to immediately make out the form of Lenore, the woman he had met before. She had been the one who had slain the previous lycan, the one that had bitten him and cursed him into his current form. If there was any one person he knew he needed to avoid, it was this huntress of the kindred of the night. A stray beam of moonlight that had escaped the canopy of leaves had glimmered off of one of her silver weapons, its cold sting likely heralding a swift demise for the once-human lycan. He remained dead silent as he watched her pass below him, noticing how she indeed picked out any and all giveaways to his trail. She would soon fall upon the point where he abandoned ground travel and, assuming she was as weathered a hunter as she appeared, would no doubt catch onto his new form of travel. He planned to travel far from the premises as he could once she was a safe distance away, but his plans fell to the wind as the branch he was standing upon began to crack. The sound immediately caught Lenore's attention, and before Abel could react, the branch gave way. As he fell towards the ground, he had already caught a glimpse of her preparing one of her weapons to fire. The moment he hit the soil, he tucked himself into a large ball of fur and rolled behind a nearby tree, just barely dodging several shimmering bolts. The trees were his only means of cover, and attempting to run would result him him being shot down before he could break the perimeter of the forest.

Lenore kept her repeater crossbow up and equipped with silver arrows. She could smell the lycan and walked slowly toward the tree where it hid. Bushes and thick leaves made it hard to see the creature but she knew it was there. When the white lycan lunged out at her, she fired round after round at it which kept the beast at bay. It seemed to know that she was using it's weakness. Silver. Lenore ran after the beast as it ran to hide again. She continued to fire rounds of arrows at it which kept the beast on the move. When it tried to hide again, Lenore tempted the beast but picking up stones and throwing them at it. A couple of the stone struck the beast in the head and though they didn't harm it, she could tell it was becoming annoyed. Lenore put the repeater away and took out a silver blade. If it was going to charge her, she would have the beast meet her blade. Lenore dug her feet into the ground and removed a small bomb. She threw it after lighting the fuse and it landed by the lycan. When it went off, it was more of a fire and smoke bomb than an explosive one. Either way it caused the lycan to come out of it's hiding spot and charge.

Abel found himself being assaulted by what seemed to be various attempts to bait it into the open. Silver bolts hit the ground near him and a series of small rocks and stones were thrown at him. He knew well what she was trying to do, yet it still didn't make the experience any less aggravating. His ears picked up the sound of a fuse being lit and knew it meant bad news for him and his cover. He would either risk being blown to bits, or leave the safety of his cover and face her and her silver. As he heard the bomb land nearby, he used his large clawed hands to pick up handfuls of loose soil and dust. As the bomb went off in an underwhelming plume of flame and smoke, he jumped out and saw Lenore ready with a silver blade. He made a charge for her, watching her very closely to see how she would prepare for her attack. Before he drew too close, he surprised her by tossing up clouds of soil. She managed to cover her eyes to avoid being blinded, yet the dust the tossed up shielded him from her sight momentarily. Not waiting for the dust to settle or allow her anymore time to regain her bearings, Abel dove out of the cloud of dust and rammed his large shoulder into Lenore's abdomen, sending her flying back and hopefully knocking the wind from her. He didn't wish to kill her, only incapacitate her, yet to his dismay, she recovered far more quickly than he anticipated and had her repeater drawn.

Lenore was wearing some thick clothing so the hit didn't bother her to much. Instead she recovered easily enough and had her blade ready. The lycan was right before her when she slashed at him. She missed the beast but swung her blade again as the claws of the beast met the blade causing a shower of sparks. The beast was using it's claws to defend itself from her blade. Using her steel toed boot, Lenore kicked away the lycan and as it fell back, she took out her repeater once more and fired a rain of silver arrows down upon the beast. The lycan had little time to react. As the hail of arrows fell, something seemed to stop them from hitting the target. A shield had been thrown which deflected the arrows from hitting their mark. Another being had been watching the two fight since the first shots were fire. As the moonlight found a crack in the leaves to break through, Lenore would see it was Wynter, one of the sisters appeared and seemed to be protecting the lycan from attack. But why was she here? Wynter soon spoke to Lenore.
"Please spare the beast, I know who he is. This lycan is Abel, father of Aria and friend of Darkwood. He's since been under the curse of the werewolf for some time now".

Abel found himself on the receiving end of Lenore's attacks and did his best to avoid them and prepare a counterattack. His new form granted him swiftness and strength far beyond what he was used to in his human form, yet his inexperience with controlling such strengths had developed into a weakness. Despite his nimble evasions, he was soon overcome by Lenore's experienced and swift approach and saw the shimmering light of her arrows as they rained upon him. As he closed his eyes to accept his fate, the loud clang of metal rang out above him. A shield flew overhead, blocking the arrows and became embedded within the trunk of a tree behind Lenore. Abel opened his eyes and looked to see the source of the shield; the enstranged Wynter who stood defensively between himself and Lenore. He heard her explain the situation to the huntress, and had wondered for a moment how Wynter had come to know of his predicament. He then remembered Aria, whom he had attacked in his feral rage a few nights past. Had she forgiven him and sought to help him through Wynter? Or had Wynter taken it upon herself to use the information to save him? Either way, he quickly got to his feet, which momentarily put Lenore on alert before she saw that Wynter had not reacted to Abel's movements. Despite his new, beastly form, Wynter seemed to trust him just as she had trusted the human he once was. As they spoke, he noticed the beams of moonlight that had shown through the canopy of the forest began to slowly fade as the night clouds blanketed the moons overhead. The loss of moonlight began to sap away at Abel's newfound strength and he felt himself hunching over from exhaustion. The two women turned their attention to him as he suddenly became enveloped in a silver flame. The flame began to shrink as did Abel's body mass until he had reached his former human size. As the flame disappeared, a human Abel had taken the place of the white lycan, donning a tattered pair of pants. He brought his hands up, looking them over and clenching his fingers. He had regained his human form, but he felt quite different than he had before he became a lycan. There was still much strength that he never possessed before. He looked up at the two women and stood up once more.

"Lenore.....what happened to me? What is this?"
