Can we get the option to enter in our own gender identity on profiles? Currently we can choose to display gender on our profiles but it only displays the gender of the human avatar base we are using and is limited to only 2 options. (Paws can choose but only between the 2 options.)
We would like to be able to customize the gender option since there are a wide variety of gender identities out there like gender fluid, non-binary, transgender, agender, demigirl/boy etc. and there are just too many to simply make a list to choose from without risk of leaving someone out. So having a blank box where we can type in our own identity would be a great idea. Also a large number of gaian's switch their avatar bases constantly depending on what kind of outfit they put together so it doesn't make sense to have the gender option be linked to what avatar base we are using anymore. <3

In light of the April 11th-12th Cash Shop/Gold Shop glitch and the radio silence on the part of the staff (who were no doubt diligently looking into fixing the issue), can you please look into a renewal of the Community Announcements to inform the community that you are aware of current bugs?

Many people have the Staff Alerts turned off, and Staff Alerts are useless if we don't get an alert that the problem is known until it has been fixed. This would help lessen the multiple threads that always crop up in Site Feedback, and in Bug Reports, and go a long way to reassuring the community that the staff is aware and working on resolutions. One of the biggest pieces of Gaia that was missed in the Lanzer-barren years was that sense of direct connection, and direct action.

Hey so, I don't know if this is an issue that you can fix, but maybe it is. But the text boxes can be made bigger and such. But since there have been some updates to gaia, in Google Chrome when in threads, the text box does this. In Firefox, it doesn't do that. But the really weird thing is, that in Chrome, PM's don't do that when expanded. Quick Reply in Chrome also doesn't disappear off to the side like that either. So I'm not sure if the issue is something with you guys or not, cause all the other text boxes all seem to work fine in Chrome. It's just when posting in forums.

Question:

I've noticed a lot of gaia is very active in the comp sci community and was curious how you felt about maybe hosting a CTF? I think it would bring in more users as well as including our current users. You could make all of the prizes virtual items so that people have an incentive to play. Also because most people play CTFs in a team you would help people interact more through the site. Of course you can limit the team sizes to make sure its not unfair. As for challenges you can look at previous CTFs and what their challenges were like as well as asking gaians to help make some.

You could also just do a ctf without any tech challenges and instead just make one based on finding things in the site. You could even use gaian trivia!

Just an idea however! I know I love these competitions!

What a CTF is ...

Capture the Flag (CTF) is a special kind of information security competitions. There are three common types of CTFs: Jeopardy, Attack-Defence and mixed.

Jeopardy-style CTFs has a couple of questions (tasks) in range of categories. For example, Web, Forensic, Crypto, Binary or something else. Team can gain some points for every solved task. More points for more complicated tasks usually. The next task in chain can be opened only after some team solve previous task. Then the game time is over sum of points shows you a CTF winner. Famous example of such CTF is Defcon CTF quals.
