To me, it's more important that the movie be accurate to the character of Spider-man and Peter Parker. The story can go most anywhere, as long as the characters stay true to their comic book counterparts. Watching the trailer, it seems that this Spider-man is a lot closer to the comic book version than the previous one ever was.

Surely they've done the beginnings of Spider-Man over and over again in the comics.

To be honest I don't even know why I'm posting. I don't don't particularly care whether it sticks to the comic or not.

i'd actually like to see this one since i've seen all of them thus far except this one and i've been reading alot of the Spider-man comics and im hoping to play all of the games that came out for the Xbox 360

It's more accurate to the comics than the last movies, minus the costume change. It shows Peter's background with his long lost parents, him getting with Gwen Stacy first, and him using web shooters. I disagree with the web shooters, just makes more sense for him to shoot webs himself instead of inventing strong enough webs to carry him, plus he doesn't need it in the future comics. I guess we'll have to see how they play it off.

It should be closer to the comic in terms of exploring Peter's actual past more as depicted in the comics with his parents and relationship with Gwen Stacey but we have yet to see if their personalities will match the comic books. Also idk if this would be following the original comic more closely or Ultimate Spider-Man which restarted it since I didn't read the original. Or if they're planning to combine aspects of both the original and Ultimate as Hollywood likes to combine things usually. Hopefully this works though.
