Cap 2 will explore him working with SHIELD and his adaption to the modern world as explored in The Avengers.

Thor 2 will explore the relationship between Thor and Jane, as well as how the Realms are functioning without the Bifrost for the Asgardians to travel between them. Hemsworth hinted that, While Loki will of course be an important part of the story, a new villain will be introduced.

Iron Man 3 will be picking up with what LOOKS like the Extremis storyline from the comics. Ben Kingsly and Guy Pearce are signed on to play undisclosed villains however they DID say it will NOT be the Mandarin. for some stupid reason.

The Avengers 2 is set to take place after each of these sequels. Thor 2 begins filming this August, not sure about the other movies.

I'm not disappointed about it all. The movie looks awesome! My only regret is the actor they have for Black Widow. She's pretty and all but..she's not fit to be Black Widow. I think she should be the Black Cat/Felicia Hardy in a SpiderMan Movie. (If they ever have a movie with her character in it) As for having the original Avengers Team....um no thank you! I rather have the top most popular Avengers Heroes in one Epic team. Also I can't stand Ant Man! That hero has so many identities I can't keep up with him! I mean the guy changes names more then any rap star! The guy has the alias of Ant Man, Giant Man, Yellow Jacket, and etc. And then there are different people who are Ant Man. It get so friggen confusing! I bet the next Avengers Movies will have the other Avengers. I wanna see She Hulk and Black Panther in an Avengers Movie! (If they make another one.) LOL!

P.S. Did you see all the previews?! All the technologies/weapons looks like it came straight out of Transformers!!!! This is going to be the most epic movie to start my summer with! I pity the fools who didn't get the midnight premier tickets!!!!

reviews from the UK release say it was amazing. Joss Whedon was the perfect choice as a director because not only has he been a writer for Marvel, hes proven in his work he knows how to balance many in depth characters (Buffy/Angel/Dollhouse/Firefly)

Are you serious! There are already rumors of the sequels?! Oh Marvel Comics....how much I love you! You never disappoint me! (...Unlike DC comics...But I'm not getting into that) (Oh and that new Ultimate Spider Man show. Spidey having a motorcycle, the show being more anime, and Peter is a bit of jerk annoys me. ) Anyways omg I'm so excited! How long have we all been friggen waiting for this?! 4-5 yrs since the 1st Iron Man movie?! Tell me I'm not the only one who has an outfit ready for the premier!

Just saw it today. Gotta say, it's the best film I've seen in ages. And I'm not easily pleased.
Better than all the build up films by a long shot. Also while I was expecting humor, I didn't expect it to be absolutely hilarious. Which it was. Mark Ruffulo is definitely the best Hulk so far and surprisingly it's the Hulk who probably gets the most laughs. It's been a while since I was in a cinema and the audience where all laughing.

I can see them using Malekith, the Enchantress, or Surtur as the villain in Thor 2, since they've all been featured in the animated canon lately. Then again, I don't read that many Thor comics so I don't know many of his villains.

The Mandarin is hard to adapt for modern audiences because the dated origin of the character (he was essentially Fu Manchu) and he's not that well-known for being Tony's arch-enemy. They probably would've used him in the first Iron Man if they thought he was important enough.

You seem to be confused by the word "unprecedented". Yes they have definitely been leading up to this, but it is indeed unprecedented in that they've taken separate major motion pictures and had them lead to one major movie event with the vast majority of the cast intact. The closest you're going to come to that is the old horror films with Lon Cheney, Bela Lugosi, and Boris Karloff all playing the creature roles they were famous for in one film, and even then that wasn't something that was planned from the outset of making the individual films.

The Avengers movie is indeed unprecedented.

If Marvel was to go with the original Avengers Captain America wouldnt be in the mix, as he didnt join until much later.

It was issue #4, which i wouldn't really call much later, but you're point about him not being in mix still stands. The Marvel "Trinity" characters are Captain America, Ironman, and Thor. The team was pretty out of balance, but once Cap was brought in it really made the team complete. I'm completely pleased with the line up they've chosen for this film.
