Progress slowly.
If you're clumsy start with easy things like co-ordination and general fitness.
Climb a tree or walk along some lowish walls or rails. Get a feel of your environment.
Conditioning is also good.
Try and make up some exercises.
eg jump onto the edge of a small wall, jump off. And then repeat.

grass is usually best for beginners
don't do it on a mattress or you wont feel it at all.

well..I sorta tripped going in to it XD and yea..my wrist sorta jumped in the way,I swear!
 
     
 
xD well, another thing with starting on the ground, do it slowlyyy.
So, I find what helps is when you start off, practice the position that you're going to be in when your hands and your feet are on the ground. From that position you can push off your feet into the roll. Note that when you do the actual roll it should be the momentum pushing you and not so much your feet. But for practice purposes you could try this. Then you won't break your wrist xD

Yea,I've been doing that and now I've got it,my friend was just distracting me is all.
