Wow, pretty failtastic answer dude who trains Gwailo Do Jitsu Te. Like Sacred said, there is no better martial art, only different ones. Unless you count mine. =P Jk jk.

Anywho, I train Jeet Kune Do, and I've been training for about 9 months. I trained Goju-ryu Karate for about 2 years before that, and I love martial arts. It's awesometastic. We train a bagillion diff. arts, and mix them. Kali, Savate, Silat, Kickboxing, Shootfighting, Jujitsu, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, and MMA. I find that they meld together to make sparring awesometastic, and quite easier than Goju's.

Lol Im glad you agree xD

So like you guys are talking about in the other martial art thread, are you training JKD as a style like every one does the same thing or do you all develop your own ways of doing it in the class?

Also what is Shootfighting? i have not heard of that before.

I've done Shotokan karate for 5 years, and two years ago I started doing pencak silat. And since last month I'm trying out Jiu Jitsu as well.
Man.. would I like to try out wushu whee

but pencak silat is still my favorite!!

I'm currently a purple belt in Kempo Jutsu Kai. I've also had some training in Hapkido, Muay Thai, and Tang Su Do.

No Martial Art is better then another, Only different. ^_^

And such arrogance proves nothing, other then your self-absorption

Wrong. My sifu told me that I could kill a man with a single pass of methane from my bowels....and he's the greatest martial artist that ever lived. He once took on a horde of rampaging chimpanzees in the jungles of Viet Nam....using only one hand. I'm his greatest student, so that makes me better than 99.9 percent of the world's population....the only person who could demolish me is sifu Hu Flung Pu.

Gwailo Do Jitsu Te is supreme. Bruce Lee didn't die from a cerebral edema, he died from sifu Hu Flung Pu's deadly hands.

I personally train it to fit myself. Pretty much, Sifu teaches us technique in class, we drill them, then I go home and train with my friend, where we get into the intense stuff. Pretty much, we spar for an hour, then polish up whichever techniques need it. However, we add techniques that aren't so natural to us, because when properly used, it's incredibly effective.
And shootfighting is a less known kind of ground fighting. We train Jujitsu as well though. Sifu actually trained with one of teh Machado brothers in California, he was showing us how this guy could sink his weight so well that even though he weighted 150 lbs, and Sifu is more, Sifu couldn't move him. It was pretty cool.

I'll disgrace anybody I want....I'm a Gwailo Do Jitsu Te master...which means nobody compares to me.

FYI: Masatatsu Oyama and Helio Gracie would've pwned Bruce Lee if he was ever stupid enough to have challenged either one of them. Fool was an actor, they were fighters.

First, you suck at life, my friend. Go pretend like you're a man somewhere else.

Two, Bruce Lee was intensely fast. I'm not sure Oyama would have been able to hit him, and if he did, Bruce Lee had an incredible conditioning regime as well. Kyokushin's rigidity would be Oyama's downfall. Against Gracie, Bruce Lee wouldn't allow the fight to be taken to the ground, and if it did, have you ever heard of his one-inch punch? I'm sure he can generate enough power to daze him, and from there, get up, and roundkick his face off.
I respect both of those people, I trained Goju-ryu Karate, which has roots in Kyokushin, and I train jiujitsu, my Sifu trained with Helio's cousin the other week, but they'd really not compare to Bruce Lee. He was a martial artist before an actor, and he kept it that way.

You're funny. First off, Oyama was not JUST karate. He had rankings in many martial arts, including boxing, kung fu, and Judo. He was quite fast and quite powerful(his nickname was "The Godhand) and actually FOUGHT other people(and bulls) of ALL different styles. Lee has no verified fights...only anecdotal stories of ones. I would pick Oyama over Lee any time in an all out brawl.

Against Helio? Depends on how good Lee's wrestling skills were(I am aware that he tried incorporating wrestling in his own personal style)....if his take-down defense was solid, MAYBE Lee would get an upper-hand...but if Helio were to successfully pull guard on him, its doneskies.

The one inch punch ain't s**t...his demo had the guinea pig in such an unbalanced stance that a 5 year old coulda knocked him back.

I just don't understand how anyone could regard Lee as such a supreme fighter when his skills have never really been tested. I mean, I respect him for bringing martial arts to western eyes...but people regard him as some god of fighting....when there is no evidence to prove such. At least Helio and Oyama had dozens of verified fights/challenge matches...with more witnesses than just his acquaintances.

BTW...I was obviously trolling with the whole Gwailo Do Jitsu Te b.s....so yuh.

Once you act like you know it all, your skill and style is lost.
Im going to brown in my karate, zen do kai and red in my teakwondo.
My form is getting better but im never going to be arrogant enough to act like a big badass because i know martial arts, the styles ive learnt are hardly effective in reality (zen do kai excluded).

I have a great passion towards the martial arts, only 9 years into it so far.

Thank god lol Some people arrogance adds shame to the Martial Arts. 9 Years is a great start so thats good, i wish i had started younger but i didn't so i got to do what i can now.

Just reread this part. You do realize that to do a proper one inch punch you need proper hip movement(not just arm and shoulders)...which is near impossible when you're on your back(seeing as how the GROUND limits the movement of your hips when it comes to striking)....even if Lee was in Gracie's guard, he'd have a better chance of regular ol' ground and pound than pulling off a one inch punch.

A martial artist that endorses pacifism is like a bird that would rather walk than fly.
i have taken taekwondo for 7 years and quit to expose myself to other arts... i currently practice jeet kune do (go Bruce Lee rofl ) and do some ninjutsu... i'm gonna move to japan when i'm older and join the real stuff (yes there is a true school taught by Masaaki Hatsumi) . me and my friends spar constantly.
