Nogueira has had more than three fights in the UFC and the only reason they're taking so long with this one is because of the whole Heavyweight mini-sham *cough* tournament the UFC put on.They know Randy can beat Mir, so they need to wait as long as possible on their matches in case Lesnar loses, because if Randy beats Nog and then beats another top contender like Werdum, Kongo, or if he fought Carwin - which I doubt he would since they've been training partners, then Randy would probably get a title shot against Mir and then Randy is titleholder again. The UFC wants Randy at 205 after the Nog fight. As for Nog he's not a sell in the UFC to non-hardcore fans who do not understand either the ground aspect of fighting or that Nog is a legend in MMA. Of the last 6 UFCs only 3 have produced submissions, and it's usually one at best, which is why everyone is training stand up.

I dont think you guys are getting it. Randy and Nog are getting on in years. At most they will have four more fights and be done with the sport and might come back for a super fight when the time calls. Not saying I cant tell what Randy and Nog to do just when your not striking like you used and your taking heavy shots you have to quit at sometimes. Like the other poster said Nog training fighters would be a good change a pace he could help corner Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida or somthing like that. Randy could start to commentate and train fighters too. Would be a good change for both fighters when they think enough is enough.

I am fully aware of how old Randy and Nog are. I train at Xtreme Couture in Toronto and have met him on frequent occasions, as for Nogueira, when I move to Texas come May that is the gym that I am moving into. I know that they are well past their prime, but at the same time, both of them can wipe the mat clean of anyone under top 10 when it comes to Heavyweights, outside of Kongo for Nogueira. As for them training fighters, it is primarily what they do now, Randy trains Jay Hieron, John Alessio, Forrest Griffin, Gina Carano and Stephan Bonnar to name a few from his camp, where Nog trains Machida, Anderson, and I believe he does work with Vitor Belfort as well.

Also, in May, Strikeforce is coming to Tacoma, in my home state, and Babalu is rumored to have a fight, and Lawler is rumored to have a fight. I'm pumped.
