Well, I think Marquardt has the advantage standing up. He beat Wilson up pretty good, handled Leites, even though he was given that bullshit point deduction and lost because of it and totally took Kampmann apart. On the ground, no questions asked Maia has the advantage technically, but Marquardt is big and has not been submitted in five years, he can possibly avoid the submissions and take it to Maia. The last guy to submit Marquardt was Almeida and he's just as good as Maia if not better on the ground, so it is hard to tell if the ground game is going to be a factor or if Maia will just pull guard. Mentally, I think Marquardt is where it's at. He's faced the champ, lost and has been on a tear in the MW division only losing to Leites in a split decision he should have won unanimously. Maia has faced very good competition as well but I do not think he'll have the game plan Marquardt does training with Greg Jackson. Heart wise, I say Marquardt again. He was the champ of Pancrase, lost it and came back to win it again, he's definitely the guy to look out for especially after this fight. I think this fight will determine Anderson's opponent after Bisping/Henderson, if they don't lose their following fight.
