I watched the game from the 30th minute onwards. Manchester only played well after Torres was subed out. But the real problem in my opinion was the ref and Berbatov.

Why did Berbatov come back for the second-half? He wasn't playing well in the first, and he did even worse in the second (he might have been worse in the first-half but since I missed the first 30 minutes...).

The ref was ridiculous. The penalty on Carrick in the first-half (around 35 minutes) was right in front of him. Mascherano had to commit 50 fouls to get a yellow. And by then he should have already been sent off. And what about the foul on Owen around the 85th minute? That was a straight red foul, but he only gave a yellow. And there were a lot of dubious calls during the match.

Seriously, the only thing the ref didn't do was bend over for the Liverpool players.

I'm not saying Liverpool didn't deserve the win, they did. The dominated most of the game, but the ref didn't give United a chance to play.
Berbatov was good. What the hell? He held up the ball brilliantly and was tactically fouled during the match like Ronaldo used to be. Can't believe Fergie subbed him, he got his tactics wrong today. The ref was a joke but Liverpool's goal was good. Carragher should have been sent off and Lucas got away with murder. Vidic was rightly sent off.

Rooney was the worst United player but none were that bad. Liverpool defended very well I thought.

I disagree. Berbatov lost every ball that got to his feet. He didn't create any chances.
Fair enough, I disagree and I think Rooney's movement let him down.

I thought United looked like a deer caught in headlights....Liverpool came into the game Gun ablazing and they really worked the ball down the pitch creating chances and making the most of them. I don't think the subbing of berbatov made any difference because A. Berbatov played terrible and B. I knew Owen wasn't gonna create any chances

Owen did get a ball in the box, which he passed to Valencia who struck the woodwork, and then suffered that foul near the box.

Berba whipped in a good cross in the first half and held the ball up and layed off Valencia for a cross for Rooney's header. Also Berba would have done better than Owen in that situation with his power.

Final 8 and the only soft teams left are Portsmouth and Blackburn. You don't see this many top 8 teams in the quarterfinals usually. I guess they really have increased in quality all the way down to Aston Villa, I wonder if the FA Cup will go this according to plan for the now big 7 teams.

Did anyone see that United is trying to change a booking given to Fabio during the Barnsley mathc because it was Rafael who commited the foul.

Both Rio and Vidic aren't playing today.
I think Ferguson decided no to play Rio, as many papers were saying was a possibility, and he didn't play Vidic so it wouldn't look like he was unhappy with Rio's performance and say it was a tactical decision.

Rooney and Berbatov guaranteed a 2-0 win.

2-0 win or a 3-3 draw you are still through to the next round.

My previous post was about the Blackburn win.
But you're right, the 3-3 was enough to qualify.

What a cruel game against Chelsea.
I thought United deserved a draw. neutral
Rooney was put clean through in the beginning, but it was wrongly called offside.
When is Drogba going to get punished for all of his cheating? :0

Cruisin for a bruisin.

I only followed through the match tracker and it seemed that United had more chances, but ended suffering a goal from a free-kick that might not have even happened.
It's was a bad result.

Drogba did get a yellow card for getting kicked in the chest cleats up, so if that isn't punishment enough I don't know what is. After that incident the whole game changed Joe Cole got away with hitting the back of the head of a Man U player. It made for a very exciting finish I almost thought it was going to turn into an Arsenal Man U pizza throwing type of finish for a while.

Wenger has led us to the Promised Land and he will find his way back again.

There goal shouldn't have stood. We've had very harsh decisions against us away from home this season! I hate Drogba and Terry but like Lampard. We played really well today.

50th Anniversary of Munich and Champions of Europe what a tribute.
