Nothing to mourn. Just a bad game for the Wings overall. You'd think they'd have brought their 'A' game seeing as how The Captain was in the building tonight.

At least Cleary got his 100th career goal. A positive to take out of a horrible game for the Wings.

The world is coming to an end. Toronto just won back to back games and one against Detroit.

Ottawa played New Jersey tonight but weren't able to come up with the win but were pretty damn close.

Milan Michalek who was hot all game got two points, a goal and an assit. Brian Lee got his first of the season when getting the other. When the Devils got on to the powerplay it changed the game.

Parise got the devils first goal on the powerplay to cut the lead to one. Then in the third New Jersey continued their scoring.

Clarkson got one on the powerplay with a wrister to tie the game. Three minutes later Andy Greene got his second of the season to give the Devils the lead. Afterwards Ottawa wasn't able to get muching going to shoot on Brodeur.

Devils won 3-2.

My 3 Stars:
1) NJD - Zach Parise - C - 1G 1A 2PTS
2) NJD - David Clarkson - D - 1G 1A 2PTs
3) OTT - Milan Michalek - LW - 1G 1A 2PTS

Next game for Ottawa is on Tuesday when they host the Oilers at the Scotiabank Place.

Toronto won again?

Amazing..

Even though the Blackhawks are tied with Columbus for first place in the Central Division, this month worries me the most. In a few weeks the Blackhawks embark on the toughest part of their schedule: The dreaded "Circus Trip" 3 games in Western Canada then 3 Games in California. Last year the Hawks managed to win 3 straight in Western Canada but got swept in California. Howepfully this year the Blackhawks can at least finish .500 again on this dreaded trip.

But first, the Blackhawks need to overcome some injuries to key players.

What really suprises me about this season, other than the piling injuries is the sub-par performance of the Red Wings.

I didn't know that they would get blown up by the MAPLE LEAFS...

Has anyone heard anything more about Cam Ward after the injury he sustained in last nights game against the Blue Jackets? He suffered from a laceration on one of his legs and was taken to the hospital after Rick Nash drove the crease and got a skate trapped between Wards pads. As Ward was carried off the ice by teammates and the trainer, he left a trail of blood from the crease to the bench and it was pretty unsettling. Its an injury that you COULD see happening more often than not, but not something that you DO see that often.

Im hoping he has a speedy recovery, however long that may take.

Detroit may be finally coming down to the level of the rest of the league. They have been amazing for so many years, it would be understandable to be average for a couple years.

I'm looking forward to seeing Chicago again. I want the Canucks to crush them.

And in reference to Ward, that's horrible.. hopefully he recovers quickly.

An update on Cam Ward came up about a half hour ago. Hes definitely going to miss about a month, but depending on how the recovery goes, it could be longer. He received stitches and stayed in the hospital in Columbus today. He will be released and return to Raleigh tomorrow where he will be further evaluated by the Canes orthopedic doc.

I hope for the best for Cam Ward and a fast successful recovery. Hes a hard working goaltender and great team mate.

I was watching hockey news last night and they went through a list of the injuries on Saturday night.
It was very long and disturbing. I wonder if there are more injuries than normal this year?

I was thinking maybe the schedule. Its so tight and condensed with games due to the Olympic break that players don't have as enough time to recover as normal.

Two keys to the Wings decent this season... at least so far: One, the losses of Hossa, Samuelsson, and Hudler. Can't lose three guys like that and not take a significant hit in points production.

Secondly... those blasted injuries. Again, it's no excuse at all.. but when you lose guys like Franzen, Filppula, Lebda, and to a lesser extent Jason Williams, you're going to suffer.

That being said though... Hockey Hall of Fame induction tonight. It will be aired on TSN at 7 tonight. Can't wait to see Steve Yzerman get possibly his final accolade (aside from a medal at next year's Olympics) tonight.

Congratulations, Mr. Yzerman. Your honor is more than deserved.
