Philadelphia is thoroughly demolishing the Bolts 6-1. JVR with three assists, and Laliberte with another point.

Absolutely beautiful! Laliberte with 2 goals in 2 games and Carter just decided to show up with a couple goals. Richy threw in a couple and Harts also got one.

I'm sure everyone has seen Mike Liambas' hit on Ben Fanelli. Fanelli is is the hospital in critical condition. But is it just me or was the hit completely clean? He glides in, does not jump, it is not late, and the only reason it may be considered from behind is because Fanelli turned.

That hit was demolishing. I would call it clean as well.

Is that the same Laliberte who played with the PEI Rocket in the QMJHL?

That was a horrible showing by the Canucks this evening..

Azial and Jasp still feel comfortable with Raycroft?
He should head back down to Toronto where he belongs.

Odd thing about this is Vancouver really had it going in the third but still got out scored 3-0 in that period.

Yeah, considering he shut-out the Avalanche I'd say I'm pretty comfortable with him in the net.

The Anaheim game was a complete write-off. We worked hard enough to at least keep the game close, but when every bounce is going against you and there are pucks hitting the boards and re-directing pucks straight into the net there is absolutely no hope of winning.

It's a clean hit, just a horrible out-come.

The main story on TSN is Phil Kessel leaving the game for a bit of time only to come back with a cut on his lip. neutral

Why does TSN have such a big bone for him?

I think I have heard more about Kessel than Ovechkin.

EDIT - It changed to Osgood shutting out the Bruins. Still, Kessel story really didn't need to be up there.

The reason he got highlighted was how he got that cut on his lip. Ohlund absolutely plastered him.

As for the Canucks, anyone watching this game is seeing one of the finest games of the year.

Samuelsson with the first goal. Kesler with a disallowed "kick in" which I believe should have counted. We've had a mini-bench clearing brawl sparked by Ryan Kesler slashing Gaborik, a fight between the benches (Avery vs O'Brien), a fight between the penalty boxes (Bieksa vs Voros), and a coach battle between AV and Torts.

Schneider's booming slapshot broke a pane of glass, and shitty refereeing allowed the Rangers to tie the game at the end of a powerplay and end Raycroft's shut-out streak at more than five periods. (I think the final count was 107 minutes?)

Kesler then got out of the box, did an amazing solo run, and passed off to Rypien who roofed one of the nicest snipes I've seen in a while.

This game isn't even over, yet.

Samuelsson again!

3-1 Canucks lead. mrgreen

******** Samuelsson is one hell of a Hockey player. Thank you for choosing, then losing Hudler, Detroit. mrgreen

Steve Bernier delivers the nail to Henrik Sedin, and he drives it clear through the coffin to finish the New York Rangers off. Empty net goal.

4-1 Canucks lead, just over a minute left in the game.

And just to add insult to injury, Glass beats Byers to the ice and puts the fans at GM Place back on their feet.

Even Tortorella is laughing.

4-1 final. mrgreen

SUPERB game by Raycroft and the Canucks.

I agree with everything Jasp said, but I'll add what I can.

Raycroft played amazingly well this evening. The one goal that did go in was the defense's fault, and he had no chance on it. I'm completely comfortable having him back there.

When the glass was replaced they left a large piece of glass on the ice, they are quite fortunate the ref was paying attention and went to pick it up.

Juice had great game this evening, so did Burr and Kes. It's nice to see them finding their grit.

I must say I am quite impressed with Raycroft. Hes definitely doing a good job in trying to fill the shoes, or skates I should say, of Luongo.

That maybe so but they still mentioned that he returned fine. If any other player were to have that happen to them I doubt TSN would make it the lead story.

In my opinion it was unnecessary. Oh well its over with and the leafs lost again so I can laugh again.
