Dale Tallon was fired by the Blackhawks and replaced by Stan Bowman. The moral of the story is never send anything important by mail.

Other stuff:

Boyd Gordon resigned in Washington.

Ryan Callahan resigned in New York.

The Rangers swapped Lauri Korpikoski for Enver Lisin of the 'Yotes.

Chris Minard signed in Edmonton, leaving the Pens.

I'm not sure I like the idea of Heatley in Vancouver. From what I've heard he's a cancer of sorts. And what would stop him from demanding a trade in Vancouver either? As for MA Bergeron, his size concerns me a bit. And could he really fill the shoes of Ohlund? I know there may not be too many puck moving defense options out there. But Gillis will hopefully make a good decision.

Every team would like to have a guy who could score 45-50 goals a season. But we've got the cap to work with too. And what would we give up for him? Demo, Raymond or Schnieder and a first? It could work I suppose. But I'm still cynical when it comes to Heatley.

Also, picking up Heatley's contract could possibly cause us to loose another valuable player in the future? Lou is going to need an extension, and Kesler will be getting a raise. Mitchell is going to need an extension pretty soon as well. SOB is only signed to one year, and if he has a great year he'll probably be looking for a raise a well.

I agree on your statements to Heatley being a very costly player. But it's worth it, look at the Penguins. They won out of brute offense. I m sure, Bergeron would fill some gap of Ohlund (remember Ohlund avgs +20 mins on ice...) and also Bergeron has a canon compared to Ohlund's slappers.
In through the maze through your reflection,

Actually, we weren't brute offense. We also had the amazing human backboard Hal Gill, Rob Scuderi [just recently became good, I remember there were rumors of us trading him earlier in the season], and two-way scorers like Staal, Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, Guerin, Talbot, and Kennedy. Yeah, you're right, it mostly was offense.
We enter from a terminal connection.

Scuderi was great for you guys in the playoffs. He is def a major reason Pit has itself another cup. You guys did produce a hell of a lotta offense this year in the playoffs and it seemed pretty well spread throughout the roster. Great year for them and even though I hate them with a passion I have to give props for pulling it out under pressure. They were the best team this year.

I like MA Bergeron. He has a huge blast and I know I wouldnt mind him on Philly, lol

THIS IS WHAT I WANT YOU TO READ!----Wayne Gretzky played for the Lakers and lead them to 4 Superbowls in 5 years.
CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS CAPTAIN
I'm not too worried about SOB. We need a rough guy on the back end who is willing to get dirty to earn his minutes if he has to. During the playoffs I thought he was actually quite good. And as for him scoring on his own net (Which occasionally hear when people are bashing him), that was one of the Sedin wonders getting too fancy. I feel he'll have a good year and hopefully show some improvement and maturity, and now take as many unneeded penalties.

MA Bergeron worries me with the cap situation as well. I could possibly see a trade happening to free up some cap room. We need a guy on defense who can move the puck and possibly quarterback the powerplay. But that doesn't mean we'll have him this year. People have been whining about another top 6. And I honeslty wouldn't mind have Sundin if he decided to take a pay cut.

/who wouldn't mind MA Bergeron? And Pittsburgh had offensive guns but most of their forwards were dam neffective in their own end..so that helped a lot and Scuderi really developed into one hell of a player.

I see SOB as an improved Cowan. I agree that he's going to continue to improve but just needs to stop with those penalties 196 mins...c'mon man.

Yeah, I know what you mean about a puck moving defenceman. We had that in Ohlund and now he's gone. I was hoping Gillis was gunna land Bouwmeester but the Flames took advantage; Phaneuf and Bouwmeester. How can Flames keep getting All Stars and not win the cup?

Sundin I wouldn't mind having back, and yes for a pay cut of coarse.

I'm very happy about the Sabres signings. Montador and DiPenta may not put up points, but they're responsible defensively and hit hard. It's exactly what we've been missing for years. And losing Spacek is addition by subtraction.

New Jersey picks up Yann Danis...have fun sitting on the bench watching Martin Brodeur play

The Carolina Hurricanes signed Tom Kostopoulos to a 3 year contract. I am very surprised that Bob Gainey didn't re-sign him.

He's getting paid money to sit on a bench. I'm sure he will have fun. No one signs with New Jersey expecting to start. However, if Brodeur retires after this season, Danis will actually get a chance to start.

Good signing for both if you ask me.
