You know nothing has happened in the hockey world when for a day and some the only discussion on this thread is about Manny Fernandez.

Hurry up October.

Well, Buffalo did sign Joe DiPenta. But that pretty much falls under the 'nothing' category.

They only did that to put some news up and try to keep us intrested. xp

Here's some more: Nolan Yonkman resigned in Nashville.

Jeez, can't somebody trade a seventh round pick for future considerations or something to give us a trade to analyze.
Just as we are talking about how nothing is happening, Andreas Engqvist signed a three-year deal in Montreal and Jacques Lemaire is the "new" coach of the Devils.
And Atlanta signs Anthony Stewart and Noah Welch.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have agreed to a contract extension with Manitoba Moose Head Coach Scott Arniel. The Moose are the American Hockey League affiliate for the Canucks.

Hopefully the Moose can continue to be successful and have another great season.
In through the maze through your reflection,
Gah! Will Pittsburgh ever give Pesonen an offer?

We enter from a terminal connection.

I started the whole Manny thing...sorry lol.
Okay, so I don't know if this is true or not but Dany Heatley says he would defienately like to play for either Anaheim or Vancouver.

I wouldn't mind seeing Heatley play with the Sedins. (I see that as another Nas-Bert-Mo line)

However, I am a bit concerned about Vancouver's D. Ohlund departing leaves a big gap. And let's not forget the ever fragile Salo. So, who's left to step up? Mitchell, Edler, or even Bieksa?

We need MARC-ANDRE BERGERON.

Big gun on the point...I always liked Marc-Andre Bergeron, he'd be a good pick up for anyone

I'm not sure I like the idea of Heatley in Vancouver. From what I've heard he's a cancer of sorts. And what would stop him from demanding a trade in Vancouver either? As for MA Bergeron, his size concerns me a bit. And could he really fill the shoes of Ohlund? I know there may not be too many puck moving defense options out there. But Gillis will hopefully make a good decision.

Every team would like to have a guy who could score 45-50 goals a season. But we've got the cap to work with too. And what would we give up for him? Demo, Raymond or Schnieder and a first? It could work I suppose. But I'm still cynical when it comes to Heatley.

Also, picking up Heatley's contract could possibly cause us to loose another valuable player in the future? Lou is going to need an extension, and Kesler will be getting a raise. Mitchell is going to need an extension pretty soon as well. SOB is only signed to one year, and if he has a great year he'll probably be looking for a raise a well.

I agree on your statements to Heatley being a very costly player. But it's worth it, look at the Penguins. They won out of brute offense. I m sure, Bergeron would fill some gap of Ohlund (remember Ohlund avgs +20 mins on ice...) and also Bergeron has a canon compared to Ohlund's slappers.

Hmmm, how do you know Luongo would want an extension in Vancouver? (That wouldn't be a bad thing) Kesler is most likely will want a pay increase.

SOB concerns me a little. I know he's gotten better as the games went on but he still takes those careless penalties. I was surprised we haven't signed WELLWOOD yet. C'mon Gillis!

Yep, he's a real class defenceman.

I just picked him because when Salo becomes injured, we'll have another gunner at the point.

I've heard lots of rumors about Lou possibly signing an extension. This is his team, he's the captain, and I get the feeling with Gillis at the helm we'll only keep getting better (Drafting, signings, organization stuff? working with and developing prospects, possibly increasing the scouting budget by x3 if the owners like the idea, I'm sure there's a lot he'll do.).

We've got some big guys on D, so MA could work. He just wouldn't be expected to be the checking juggernaut that SOB is. And I liked the SOB signing, I think he's got potential to be a top 4 D-Man if he really works at it.

The one player that really stands out for me besides the obvious Coho would be Steve Bernier. I've got a good feeling that this guy is going to break out this year and start burying those chances he kept screwing up last season. I predict about 20-25 goals from him.

Hmm...Lou just wants a team that can win and we proven him just that. So, its a possibility.
Yeah, Bergeron will work. I m just worried he'll eat up too much cap if we sign him. SOB is a checking machine yes, but I prefer him to Block shots like Johnson does. Man, I love that guy.

Yes, Steve Bernier just had that year where the puck luck wasn't there. I too feel he'll do well. I really liked that Wellwood, Raymond, Bernier line.

Raymond with speed. Wellwood with the hands. Bernier with the screen.

In through the maze through your reflection,

Actually, we weren't brute offense. We also had the amazing human backboard Hal Gill, Rob Scuderi [just recently became good, I remember there were rumors of us trading him earlier in the season], and two-way scorers like Staal, Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, Guerin, Talbot, and Kennedy. Yeah, you're right, it mostly was offense.
