I remember watching this spick play in Poland for Lech Poznan
Really made his presence prevalent to european clubs when he was shooting more accurately
Than the SS gonk
Dortmond were insightful enough realize his potential to develop into a prolific foward
And took advantage of the opportunity to sign him when he was undervalued
It's surprising that they did not sell him when had the chance to for a lot of money or even at a small fee during the last transfer window knowing he would leave so they could raise some coin to replace him before he left on a bosman
It just goes to show the faith the yellows had in him
He's reached the pinnacle of success now playing for a club that will love him as there own
At the expense of being hated by those he once knew

If rumors are to be believed, Lewandowski's relationship with BvB turned sour already. Up until last season, he only get around 2M which is a lot less then what other top strikers get. Both Mario Goetze and Marco Reus get better deals than him.When Lewa asked for a pay raise, BvB told him he cannot be top earner there because he is Polish. They also promised him that he can leave to any club 1 year prior to the end of his contract. So technically, there's no faith, it was just a gentleman's agreement. and BvB did not really love him as their own. No matter how many goals he scored, he cannot be as loved as their home grown Mario Goetze or former youth player Reus.

Last season, BvB tried to sell him to other clubs despite the 30M offer from Bayern. Lewa just said no to any other transfers because he really wants to move to Bayern. A lot of people are being outraged by this transfer but if you try to place yourself in lewa's shoes, Bayern is the best possible club for his career:

1. They don't have a top notch striker - Mandzu is good but he will never be at the same level as Van Persie, or Ibra, or Messi (as False 9);

2. Lewa already knows the in and out of Bundesliga plus the fast paced plays. Moving on to another league might make him a flop because he has to adjust all over again;

3. He already know the language, the culture and he is already well-known in Germany;

4. You get to play with one of the best in the World (sorry, arrogant Bayern lover here) with an added bonus of being coached by Pep Guardiola.

So really, it's a wise career move. Can't really blame the guy.

I suppose you are right fairy, BvB were sort of exploiting the pols vulnerability on his contract where they agreed to pay him at a price they believed was right at he time of signing him. BvB and Pole are obliged to abide by that agreement even if there is a disagreement between either of them where the Pol wasn't being paid enough. BvB could have offered him a new wage similar to other good players in europe if he agreed to an extension but I suppose they didn't because of the reason that he isn't a true german lol
Seems hard to belief that the reason they didn't want him to continue to play longer is because he demanded a wage increase, he's a good player and he's done a lot for BvB but if that is the reason why they didn't want to match or even increase his wage because of some form patriotism idegi. I thought they put his salary up to 5 million or something. But w/e it seems the motive behind the reason for leaving is that he wasn't being appreciated soon enough.

His arrival can only mean that some one else will be demoted leaving them with out regular playing time and a potential move else where. He's a good player who is capable of performong well anywhere, he could have gone any where he wanted but went to Bayern for a reason, maybe the stability of being familiar with Germany played a part or just that Bayern are as good as it gets and he wants to play with the best so he can win the best things. But w/e it is it defintly not gonna go down well with BvB fans when he returns to Westfalenstadion lol

Granted that he is worth less than 2M in wages when he signed for BvB, when your profile gets higher, I believe you should be entitled to a raise. otherwise, you can't really blame a player if he wants to leave after his contract. Football is a risky sport. Just one injury might kill your career. Also, at some point, when you reach 30, chances are, you will no longer be the same player as you were when you are 24. So really, grab the chance while you can.

And for the record, BvB only increased his wages from less than 2M to 5M when they already know he is moving for sure. It only happened this season. They gave the 5M increase because they backed down from their promise that Lewa will be able to leave to any club he wants. They also did that as an incentive to Lewandowski to play at his best because the guy was a little irate to them.

If there is anything I am sure of, it is that Lewandowski is ambitious. lol
