According to the GM of the Phoenix Suns, he stated saying that the USA team was being built around Kobe Bryant. WTF's up with that? And how can you invite Lamar Odom over Allen Iverson? It just doesn't make any sense.
i support the notion that the team is being built around kobe...first of all kobe is dedicated to get the gold back for Team USA and plus he has a chip on his shoulder knowing that not everyone likes...this way if he does redeem Team USA he would at least gain credibility and at least some forgiveness for what has happened in the past (btw im not a kobe fan but i respect the man for his love for the game and killer instinct to win)
as for lamar being picked over iverson....since the team is being built around kobe why not bring in one of kobe's teammates...they already know each other and will be comfortable playing side by side...also lamar brings other skills to the game which iverson does not need to bring (iverson is a scorer and slasher and a really good passer but with the team being built around kobe he might have a problem with it in the long run) lamar brings a mismatch to the opposing team sure he does not play great defense but his size alone will make the opponents second guess if they should shot over him....also lamar brings great rebounding to the team from a SF position also he is able to shoot well (inside the arc...not sure bout his 3) and also can slash pretty well for a big man...overall i think he would be a great fit on the team when compared to iverson

I didn't read everything you wrote but you make a good point about Lamar being Kobe's teammate. So yeah, when you put it that way Lamar should be on the team.

i dont agree iverson is a much more consistent player where lamar has some good games but is lacking a lot iverson would have been a much better pick

yeah he would of
I think picking Lamar on the merit of his own game BEFORE the Lakers is better than picking him on the merit of being Kobe's regular teammate. Right now Lamar is still having trouble adjusting to the Lakers, and to Kobe in particular. He's still getting the double-doubles in points and rebounds, but he's nowhere near as effective as he used to be back when he played that one season in Miami. I feel that until things improve for him and the Lakers, he's been made to take a step back.
Quick question: Eddie Curry or Ryan Gomes?
Hmm well iverson is the scoring and the passing. Lamar is the walking triple double, becuase he can pass, he has the quickness and power and height! which is very important so he can most likely pair up against most european tall guys.

Also, doesn't the US team already have enough prolific scorers on their team already? They've already got Lebron and Kobe to score. Plus, with more high scoring players, there could be less team chemistry, because more people will be asking for the ball.

Well, that's my explaination, but I feel that Iverson was snubbed. I've heard that he was one of the few people in the NBA who wanted to play for the 2002 Olympics. They could've given him a little more respect than that.
Thats life, what are you gonna do.
Its obvious that chris paul is going to win ROY, but CV isnt that bad either after wat every1 said about him
Yeahh thats true, he took alot of dirt and look at him! he can shoot, drive, may work on power and inside scoring but he definately proved ppl wrong!

yeah i agree with you that it was a bit disrespectful to snub someone of iverson's caliber...true he may not have fit well into Coach K's system but do you think from his perspective he was doing Iverson a favor by not inviting him...this way iverson does not get snubbed while he is on Team USA the way I see it Coach K did the better of the two by letting Iverson know that he was not part of the big picture ....sure the firepower of Kobe and IVerson would have been tremendous but the amount of playing time given to Iverson may have deferred from the primary objective of having Kobe as the focal point
