I don't follow NCAA as much as I follow NBA sad

But JJ Reddick, unfortunately, seems like he might be one of those players who were great in NCAA, but kinda taper off in the NBA. You have to admit, to the general fanbase of basketball, he seems very one-dimensional. His forte is the 3-point shot, and he doesn't have a whole lot of size or athleticism on him. But who knows, if he can work on his athleticism a bit, and some playmaking skills, he could end up being a Steve Nash-type player, or a consistent PG/SG.

I don't think he'll be picked top 5, though; shooters are a lot more common than big men, and all-around players who change the game.

Yeah, your right he shouldn't be in the top 5 but he should be in the top 10. If you look at the ESPN predictions they have some dude from Italy being drafted within the top eight. He plays as a SG. Why is he in the top 10? I don't know.

Exactly. Redick is just a shooter. A pure shooter. Most teams don't need a pure shooter. They need either a big strong inside player, or a player that can penetrate the defense and also get to the hoop, aka LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay, and Adam Morrison.

On the other hand most teams have a good strong inside player.
Such as the Miami Heat they have O'Neal who scores every time you give him the ball inside, Dwayne Wade is the only player on the team that can penatrate and shoot. A pure shooter is what they need because they only have one person that shoot and thats Wade.

Another example the New York Knicks. Dear God, they have the most problems. They have Eddie Curry and Chaning Frye who are really good, there big and strong. However they haven't had anyone who could hit an outside shot.

Marbury is passer.
Richard is having a terrible year.
Francis is a ball hog.
Nate Robinson is a passer.
Jalen Rose is inconsistent.

I think this explains what I'm trying to say.

Who on earth are you talking about? surprised

actually the heat have many shooters and the knicks have the most what the knicks need is more defense and big offensive men

On a different subject, Clippers defense was very good last night. First time ever an NBA team was held scoreless for the equivalent of a quarter.

Duke is looking more and more like a one man (Redick) team.

What do you mean held scoreless for the equilvelent for a quarter? I heard that SAC was held scoreless against DET in the 3rd quarter earlier this month. so how is it the first?

The Heat shooters, excluding Wade, are inconsistent. And yes, the Knicks needs more defense. If they had better defense they wouldn't be 15-35

He's just the leading scorer. When he's on fire they give him the ball. So actually the team looks for him to score, therefore making him look like a leader.

Is JJ rRedick the all time 3pt FGM leader in NCAA History? Cuz i remember i was watching one of dukes games and they said he needed like 4 or more 3pt shot to become all time leader but i never caught the tail end of that game.

Yes. The Knicks are terrible, I get it already. That's the Knicks for ya. (Knicks have talent/offense, they just don't have coordination, chemistry, and defense. The last thing they need is another offensive-minded rookie cause they already have three good/decent ones; David Lee, Frye, and Robinson.)

As for the Heat, they traded their shooters away. Their 3pt specialists Damon Jones and Rasual Butler and perhaps Christian Laetneer. They still have Anderson and Posey.

EVNE3, I saw the last few minutes of [my] Clippers' game. Im proud of them. They shut down Paul and the emerging Hornets. They broke another record, once again, and they'll go down in history. Most people would be surprised to see that the Clippers, out of all teams, shut down someone to 16 pts in one half cause they'd expect it to be one of those very high-tier teams (Pistons, Spurs). 3nodding

I believe they announced that it was a record because they held them scoreless for more than 12 mins and only 16 points in a half. Previous record was 19. So yes, I stand corrected kid. 3nodding

Basically, the Clippers held the Hornets only to 16 pts in the 2nd half due to great defense, and with great defense comes great offense. Most teams score at least that many points in a quarter, not two. Kudos to my Clippers. Maggette is coming back today against the Jazz. cool

Anyone see that weird incident last night in the Spurs vs. Mavs game? Robert Horry was nibbling on Stackhouse's arm. Haha.

Flip flop rock[et].

Hey, Who here thinks the spurs can go back to back rings? I'm still a little worried about Timmy D, and also the Pistons are looking to take home court advantage over everybody...so give me a post if you got somethin for me. cool

Yes, the Spurs have a great chance inn winning this year. They have the best team chemistry. However if the Spurs were to play the Pistons again the Pistons would win. Pistons have no "star" player because there the definition of a team.
