Dwight's baby hook is useless when Perkins is muscling him out 5-6 feet away from the basket.

Thats why it is limited. He still averages 20ppg though and that is mainly because he's quick and strong. Problem with the Celtics front line like i've said many times though....Perkins and Baby are really strong also and quick.

Dwight is more of a defensive center though, but his offense isn't bad it's just limited.

Defensive center.. LOL. All he's got is athleticism. I've seen plenty of open Rondo lay-ups, or Rondo assists that come with Dwight not doing the right thing. Rondo is schooling him out there.

Yeah but that's not on him all the time. Rondo is skooling Rafer, go back to my post where I said if the Bulls beat the Celtics that Rose would probably demolish Rafer.

Rafer's weakness...quick-strong guards. Houston knew all about that with Deron Williams.

Yeah defensive Center, he only won DPOY and no one argued that. Led the league in blocks and rebounds and was the main reason his team had top 5 defensive stats.

Stats are overrated. I think they should just get rid of the DPOY award altogether.

Stats are overrated depending on the situation. Steals overrated.
A perimeter player that plays the best defense would be one that doesn't have to gamble so much and plays straight up. Many times guys who lead in steals are getting them off gambling but still giving up too much penetration.

In Dwights case he is a force inside. We've seen there isn't a way for a center to hide from playing defense they have to be there or else because they're the last line of defense. Blocks and Rebounds are something you're getting your team possessions and saving points. Not to mention the presence he brings effects shots he doesn't even block because players are wary of him. That with a team that basically doesn't have too many good defenders or team defender. Hedo-Redick-Alston on the perimeter vs a guard like Rondo. Hes done well I don't see why you hate on him and the award blindly.

Its not fair to say blame him for Rondo. Chris Paul was doing the samething or more to the Spurs last year who were a better defensive team but Paul was more so exploiting Tony Parker. All three of those guards are lightening quick.

Its not even his stats. It is his effect on his entire team.

Who else on that team is even considered a GOOD defensive player? Not one other player, but Dwight effects EVERY shot in the paint and Unlike Yao he can't be picked and rolled to death. Yet his team plays good defense and Rashard and Hedo had never ever in the history of everness been known as defensive players.

Rafer plays some defense...but as I said...your young quick and strong...you will destroy the guy. I laughed when Paul embarrassed him then the next time we play the Hornets Brooks is on him and we contain him better. Dwill made lunch meat outta Rafer EVERY time and it made the WHOLE team defense look bad.

Basketball 101. If you have a PG that can penetrate when he wants to it makes your entire defense looks bad. It's not Dwight's job to close the lanes it's the Job of everyone else.

We've seen many times this postseason where a Guard goes off...like Brooks...making a good defense look bad for a night or a series. That's what good PGs do and Rafer plays good D against some PGs but a guy like Rondo is his weakness. Just too quick and strong for him.

Thats why the Lakers are barely playing Fisher, because Phil knows that penetration is the basic form of breaking down a defense.

Phil said it's all about penetration. Period. He said at first we had to prevent penetration by denying Yao the ball...which they did, hint at me complaining about Yao's shot number...then Phil says that now they are getting penetration by Brooks.

That's all you have to do to break down any defense, it's not entirely Dwights fault. Once Rafer is beaten, Dwight has to either cut off the lane or stay back...that's too much to ask from a Center.

That's one of the reasons Boston's defense is so good, they have a guy who can spearhead the defense in Rondo then a guy who can help and clean up...and cut off lanes in Garnett...and when Garnett isn't there...Rondo still is and Perk.

Same can be said why Detroit lost it's defense when they Lost Billups and Denver suddenly gained theirs despite losing former DPOY Camby.

I agree that Mark Cuban was wrong for what he did. But everyones blowing this up to such an extreme. And people even blaming him for the fans reaction...it probably has something to do with his own reaction after game 3 but c'mon. Those are still adults doing all of that they act like their 13-15 years old. If you're freaking 20 + you shouldn't be that impressionable.
Kenny Smith I thought needed to lay off already he acts like hes the voice of reason and its a bit condescending.
If he said he looked for him and his mom and all this blah blah mumbo then just leave it be I think. They didn't even know if his mother was at the game 4.

And the Big Baby incident I do think the father went a bit far. But still its common courtesy to respond like Big Baby did I thought that was cool of him.

And one more thing I think Charles-Kenny and all those guys who say that the NBA players don't conduct themselves right. I think sometimes its partly from things they say. They do listen to them I think they should start mentoring or someone needs to.
Because they basically go on TV and say what they think the players should do then the players carry it out wrong and then their right back on Inside making fun of them or scolding.

When I heard about the thing with the dad, I thought maybe he was looking for some way to sue because seriously...if I were that kid i'd be "HEY DID YOU GUYS SEE ME ON TV LAST NIGHT! I WAS THE GUY WHO WAS PUSHED BY GLEN DAVIS! ZOMGWTF!?"

I thought it was funny though.

I honestly don't care though about the Kmart thing...I think it's funny that Cuban told his mom something like you're son is a thug. Yeah those guys are always scolding the players though when they have made some mistakes themselves...Especially Charles and i'm not even talking about his recent thing.

I thought it was kinda funny. I don't blame Big Baby if you do something like that..well at least for me I would of been doing that on instinct I wouldn't remember a thing before the jumper. So him pushing the kid I thought was that though some people act like the kid was completely in his way he basically didn't need to shove him.
But I dunno about calling Big Baby "acting like an animal". I can see why he asked though if you're the father I dunno if you can just be like "well you can tell the kids at school about it". He'd be afraid of what his son would think. I still think that would be a great story though. d:

I thought that one he didn't say it and hes also in the heat of the moment. He pointed to her and said "that includes your son". Why is this like he made a bomb threat on their house? Ok he said that and he shouldn't of but we all do things like that sooner or later or things even worst.
Shes what around 50+ years of age? I wonder if she even cares she was laughing before and after he said it.

I think all of them need to tone it down they do it too often. And mostly off their own advice a player is technically doing what they themselves said.

I still have hope for the Rockets I guess cause im a Rockets fan that I have so much faith and hope.

I thought we were done after game 2 but I was wrong.

Anyways about Tmac dont think they will trade him next season they might just keep him around for a while to see how the team chemistry is.If its not working trade T-Mac as much as I hate to say it.

No leader calls out his coach in public. No leader falsely calls himself a "dominant presence", when he has no semblance of an offensive game whatsoever. He was 5-10 from the field last night, 1 assist with 4 turnovers.

Do you want Howard to score in the fourth quarter and create post-up plays when he just turns them over? No. This is where Nelson would be appreciated.

Honestly who cares if he called his coach out in public? Barkley and some guys on ESPN?
Yeah yeah we've heard it all before its been over 90+ games now and anybody can lose it once and a while. The thing about it is he only told the truth.
Gundy will probably feel it and the team but come on now everyone goes through some growing pains. Howard probably shouldn't of said it to the media but who doubts it to be true.

5-10? Uh hes a post player he needs his guards to pass him the ball. He touched the ball literally 3 times in the 4th quarter. Van Gundy pulled out long athletic Pietrus for stumpy J J Redick and a host of other players that lost the momentum and lead. And the offense got stagnant.
Howard isn't an amazing post player but give it a rest he is good enough to average 18 per in this series and theres no reason for him not to. Credit to Perkins and Baby but obviously if they let Howard work there Perkins and Baby would be sitting because of their own foul trouble because Perkins fouls more than even Howard. And whos backing up Perk or Baby? Mikki Moore and the Red Rocket can't guard Howard because hes too big.

Let Howard get his fair share of credit because he deserves it. He obviously didn't just come into the NBA without working at all. And hes been defending Gundy all season from his critics himself so people get a bit too critical of these comments. Like Kenny Smith or Barkley everyone makes mistakes like these thats why they even talk about it in detail because they've been there.

Nelson also they use to say how well Alston would work in there. He really hasn't been that great here. Nelson makes the shots he misses consistently hes just as quick and hes stronger. Not to mention just all around consistent but Nelson also because of his scoring ability gave space for everyone. Rondo basically can play a mini zone at times.

Great job quoting yahoo sports there.

Against the Celtic team? I'm not so sure about Dwight averaging 18. Even so, that's not what you would call dominant.

No player, who plays for their coach, should call out the coach in public. There's a place in the locker room for that. Act professional, don't complain.

Just stop hatin; Duncans still the best PF ever give Howard his due this is silliness.

Kenny Smith still pretty much insisting that Phil Jackson only won championships based on talent. We could say that for a ton of coaches/dynasty's then. But Kenny seems to go out of his way to say it about Phil.

Ok Charles can't even do the right push up. Because his chest just literally can't touch the floor so not sure why they keep telling him hes doing it wrong.

Man you hating on the guy.

ESPN making a big deal about nothing. They just want to trying to add another dimension to the game, they just hyping up the game 2morrow.

Also what Dwight said was right any ways.
