The fact that you even waste time watching the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates play is disturbing to me. The Pittsburgh Pirates are nothing more than a Double-A team pretending they are a Major League baseball team and the Cincinnati Reds haven't been good since 1990 when they won the World Series against the Oakland Athletics. I don't know how you can't enjoy the 2009 World Series. It has been a VERY exciting series. Danniman is a troll. Ignore him. This World Series has been great and will be an even better one if the Phillies can win. When was the last time a World Series went to game 6? The last World Series that went to game 6 was the 2003 World Series between the New York Yankees and the Florida Marlins. The New York Yankees won games 2 and 3 of the 2003 World Series. Game One: Florida Marlins won 3-2 Game Two: Yankees won 6-1 Game Three: Yankees won again 6-1 Game Four: Florida Marlins won 4-3 Game Five: Florida Marlins won 6-4 Game Six: Florida Marlins won 2-0 2003 was the last time the New York Yankees made it all the way to the World Series. |

Well we know Cole Hammels definitely won't be the MVP again if the Phillies happen to win lol For the Phillies it should either be Cliff Lee or Chase Utley. You could make a case for either one. For the Yankees it should be Mariano Rivera. Especially if he goes two innings tonight and saves the game for the Yankees. I would love it if he was the World Series MVP. Derek Jeter was the World Series MVP in 2000. I feel Mariano Rivera doesn't get the credit he deserves when it comes to things like this and if the Yankees win then they should definitely make him MVP. |

Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Mark Teixeira, Andy Pettitte, C.C Sabathia, Johnny Damon, Melky Cabrera, Hedeki Matsui, etc, etc, etc. They are a great team and there are many many many players who deserve to win. It's going to be wonderful to watch the Yankees win their 27th World Series Championship tonight. It has been a long time coming and any true baseball fan should be able to enjoy the World Series and baseball for what it is. |

When you compare the Yankees and White Sox it's very very very different. White Soxs lost during the ALDS in 2008. In 2005 they won the World Series. And in 2000 they lost during the ALDS. Now lets compare that to what the Yankees have done these past years. We know they didn't make it last year. In 2007 they lost during the ALDS. In 2006 they lost during the ALDS. In 2005 they lost during the ALDS. In 2004 they lost during the ALCS. In 2003 they lost the World Series. In 2002 they lost during the ALDS. In 2001 they lost the World Series. And in 2000 they won the World Series against the Mets. Yankees have come very very close just to lose during these past few years. Many of the other teams in the league didn't even come close to making the playoffs two or three years consecutively. I found last year to be a lot easier than any other year because at least there weren't any World Series expectations. I knew the Yankees weren't good enough to make it into the playoffs and I accepted it. Thats why it's going to be nice to watch them win number 27 because for the past 9 years you knew they were a good team, but there was always a little something missing. Now this year they finally have everything working for them. Its great to see a team fight year after year after year after year and finally watch them succeed. |

I was comparing the number of years in bewteen World Series Championships... It took the Red Sox 86 years and the White Sox 88 years. THOSE were long waits for a championship, not 9 years. I understand what you were saying though. But I disagree about it being "hard". Ok, so the Yankees haven't won a WS in 9 years, that isn't hard. Try being a Cubs fan, honestly. Believe it or not it's a lot harder to not win a World Series in 100 years(the Cubs) than to go to the playoffs almost every year and be a contender for the WS every year also(the yankees). rolleyes |
