Sure everyone knows who won by now, seeing it's been like 10 minutes after the interviews. Cotto put up a good fight at the beginning, but Pacquiao's speed and power proved to be too much for him.

THE RAMENSOUP SCORECARD

MP 9 10 9 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 10 W
MC 10 9 9 8 10 9 9 9 9 9 9 TKO

FIGHT SYNOPSIS

Cotto's power was definitely felt in the early rounds, connecting with powerful jabs and uppercuts that would knock Pacquiao back a considerable amount, snapping his head back. The 3rd round KD of Cotto didn't hurt him really, and despite being downed he came back and won that round. However, the 4th round KD did hurt him, in which I believe he never recovered from mentally. Cotto went into boxing mode in the 5th, and Pacquiao adjusted in the 6th, biding his time for the first minute of the round, later to unload a flurry of punches once he saw an opening. From that round on it was all Manny, wearing Cotto down little by little, cutting up his face each round. In the 8th (I believe) Cotto was asked if he was able to continue, where he said no problem, but afterwards he looked on the run and Pacquiao capitalized on it. Trainer Joe Santiago gave his fighter one more round in the 10th then said he was going to stop it if nothing changed. After surviving that and the 11th, Cotto was about to quit, but was talked into finishing. But referee Kenny Bayless saw enough around the 50 second mark of the 12th and stopped the bout on another Pacquiao attack that forced Cotto to the ropes.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Agreeing with Steward, Manny Pacquiao really has surpassed the title "Pound 4 Pound" and I think he has gained the title of "all time greatest" after tonight. For a lot of things riding on him, like the entire nation of the Phillippines, for the recent victims of this year's typhoons, and even one of his own prospects Z "The Dream" Gorres, who immediately after his win yesterday collapsed from a blood clot in his brain, and now is in critical condition. I think that's all he can do to help those around him. It doesn't help them personally, but to give everyone that pride that someone who used to live like many of them can do it and give them that hope is enough to get them through their days. Besides, not everyday you see the nation have an almost 0% crime rate, even if it's for a few hours.

Miguel Cotto is always a great fighter. Of course, being a victim to Pacquiao will prompt many to say that he's washed up, should retire, and just get out before he really gets hurt. I think, with what I think with Hatton, is they should get back up and keep going. A loss is a loss. It happens, there's most likely to be one in every fight. So before people start labeling like they always do after a Pacquiao fight, Cotto still will get back in there and fight like he always does, losing no respect at all after this fight.

In any case, after tonight there is no chance in hell that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considered better that Pacquiao now. Only way I see him topping this is if he opts to fight Mosely or Williams, given that Paul Williams would agree to move down or if Mayweather would move up. But of course, this is too much to ask of Mayweather, since he just isn't brave enough to. Last I heard, he's calling out a young up and coming fighter that's barely getting any recognition right now..... To quote R.A. the Rugged Man, "That sounds like a Floyd move."

I'd love to see the PPV buys after this.... They even said that even the weigh-in was over capacity, with hundreds of people outside of the building just to see or hear of it, which I think has never happened in the history of boxing. It's almost NOT possible to pass up a fight with Pacquiao now, it's always going to be the biggest draw in boxing no matter what.

My Opinion
Team Patch Cipriano because who doesn't want a dark, mysterious fallen angel that can play pool?
Team Jace Wayland because he bleeds and isn't perfect
Well, Pacquiao won! FILIPINO REPRESENT!

My heart is on fire tonight,

I'm hoping all the words I say are right.

I agree with you, still love Manny but Cotto is good. The announcers were saying that Cotto did everything he possibly could have to win, but Manny was just too much. Cotto is strong and totally in-shape. He shouldn't let this loss end his career for him.

I did feel bad for him though. I think the point where he lost hope and just wanted to get it over with was the 2nd time he was knocked down.

Poor guy, I give him props. At least he left the ring standing.
