Name trouble!

Hey, started playing Soul Crash today, and it is really fun. But here is my problem:
My name is the same as my friend and not my name on soul cash, meaning that it is me playing but my character has taken my friend name that also play the game. cat_gonk
'Why is this?
And can I somehow change it?
Should I have been able to select my name in the beginning and in that case when?

Or by chance is it another reason why my character is named something other then me?
Also my character is a male character and the friend is a girl and so it is a girls name.
