If you had to many friends and everytime you went to your hang out, they all kinda gather around and follow you around.

But you hated it, so you throw your arms up and shout "TOO MANY PEOPLE!" and walk away, and they a few follow, and the the rest follow a little later, and don't seem to get it.

You dont want to be mean though, and you still wanna keep SOME of them.

but you'd just like to... you know, not be swarmed twice a week. O.o

Seriously, and you reeeaaallly think about this and tell me what you would do?

Ugh, I know the feeling, only with not quite so many people, just my friend and her boyfriend. I like bobbyjoe88's advice. That would definitely work. Or you could tell them, very nicely, that it bothers you or something. Horrible advice, I know. You're probably thinking "No one does that anymore." But I'll tell you that it works. That's what I did because my friend and her boyfriend were NOT getting our EXTREMELY OBVIOUS hints. So yeah, that's my advice. Sorry if it's not much help...

Hide. It's what I do.

I also have multiple IM accounts. Because whenever I log into my main AIM account I receive 8 or 9 messages simultaneously and instantly. Not only is it annoying, but if I don't respond to all of them within 30 seconds then some people will begin to post "you there?" several times in a row, expecting that if the first was false the second will be true.

By making multiple accounts, I log in according to whom I want to talk to. Then when I want to hang out with a specific person, I arrange before-hand where I will meet them at an odd time.

As well, I have only one close friend who knows all of my hiding spots. I am fast, thin, and silent- so if I ever want to disappear I can be long gone before anyone realizes. If she really wants to find me, she searches all my hiding places. I never mind a visit from her ^_^

I would tell them you feel crowded, and presuming you don't dislike any of them, arrange to meet a few at a time. Then there won't always be a swarm of them.

Or you could just tell them you don't want to hang out much...make something up if you have to biggrin

What I do in those kind of situations is I get it so that everybody is busy talking or doing something and I sneak away. This might take some practice but you should try to sneak off and hide from everybody. Then meet up with like two or three friends in some other spot. It works for me.

Show 'em that your interested in socialising on a smaller scale. just start talking with one or two of them, like, a really in depth discussion about something, and everyone else will talk amongst themselves too.

This will happen, I guarantee you 99.99% based on experience. I go around in a fairly big group, but we only ever talk one on one, or up to three or four. It works.
