It is an illegitimate category specifically as it does not describe with any accuracy, which is suddenly very important.

I can find males to be cute sometimes, and will fangirl over male characters on a show even. But I don't form the type of emotion or sexual feelings for males that I do for females. I could never see myself in a relationship with any man, could never be with one sexually. I label myself as a lesbian, with the ability to recognize when someone of the opposite sex is cute/attractive.

I'd think that you figure out what you like to do best when it comes to romantic encounters with the opposite gender. Then see where that is on the scale.
