Which is worse: the loss of life, or the loss of hope?

Uta-no-seiko Which is worse: the loss of life, or the loss of hope? Why? For me the loss of hope would lead to the loss of my life... without hope, I can't continue on through the problems that plague me and my family. If I didn't have hope I'd sink into despair and then die. |

I feel the loss of hope.
I am Wiccan, so a lot of this has to do with my beliefs. However, I am merely going to inform you what I feel, and am in no way going to press what I believe on you. Don't take offense to anything. The loss of hope is worse. I feel that there is an afterlife. If you loose your life, your soul is sill there. You cannot destroy energy, so what happens to the fire of your soul? It lives on. Well, because of this, if you loose hope, then you loose that sense that there is something out there waiting for you. If you loose hope, then all is lost. If you no longer have hopes, then your dreams are shattered and your soul is dead. If your soul is dead, then you're gone. There is no returning to what you once were, because your whole life changes. You're worse than dead in my eyes. |

Depending on how you lose your life, because suicide has a more horrible influence on those that cared for you than an accident. They may feel they did something wrong:/

And whose life? Are you talking about losing someone else? Losing your own life? Or someone who is losing their life losing hope. That's a pretty damn broad question. If you lose your life there's not much use for your hope. |

I find it funny that everyone said hope. The question wasn't worded in a manner that I felt I could pick that. The loss of life is worse than the loss of hope, because if you have ambition and happiness, you don't need hope, but your own death will destroy that, and for me another person's death would effect me much more.

The loss of life, the loss of hope can be recovered - or if need be, lived without. Life on the other hand, after life there is no return, there is no greater waste than the loss of ones life.

Death isn't so bad. We all will come to know it one day.
