OP, I may not agree with everything you said, but you certainly covered a lot of things I'd have to agree with now that I think about it. Good food for thought.

disney's main audience is children.
and that's who they make their movies for.
and children, unlike adults, don't think about sexism, or racism, or whatever.
they just enjoy the movies.

and you have to remember, that disney started out in the 30's.
it was a much different time then.
also, their movies aren't based in ancient greece, ancient china, etc.
and if you read the fairy tales that most of the movies are based on, disney isn't bad at all.

I think you are forgeting that Walt Disney truned popular stories in to film, not create them.
Snow White for example was wrote by Jacob Grimm who lived between 1785-1863. You need to take into acount the time the story was wrote and the viwes of wemon druing that time.

Personly my mother and my self dislike Snow White but I know other movies were girls hold strong. Ariel, Pocahontas, Mulan, Rapunzel and Tiana all know how to hold on there own.

I liked Esmeralda from the Disney version of Hunchback of Notre Dame.
She helped save the male characters, kicked a**, and has a loving and fiesty personality.
Only Disney girl I've ever really admired.
The stories on which the movies you mentioned are based off of are quite old, and are bound to have somewhat traditional roles and values.
