I got a bit nervous when they scored again, they kept coming so close to tying the game up. I think Japan just didn't have the right angle on their kicks, they had good ball control but US had more 'fight' to their play.

The US are not sore losers. They highly respect the Japanese team, and as the commentators pointed out they US attitude was one of "Redemption" not one of "Revenge." It was a positive attitude at proving themselves again after being beaten.

Also in the pre-game press conference both teams were highly complimentary toward each other and the US commentators were the same, constantly praising Ohno and talking about how strong Japan was at cornering the US team and pinning them down in a small area. They also regularly talked about how the US can't lose focus and let up because Japan was very strong and would be right there to take over and score some goals.

If you want to talk about disrespecting the Japanese women's team then you need to look at Japan themselves. The men's soccer team flew over for the games in First Class while the women's team was stuck in economy. Note that the women's team took Silver while the men's team will at best take Bronze.

Yes, Sadly women's sports don't get much respect. I am proud that my husband is just as interested in women's soccer as he is men's.

I hope the talk of a new women's pro soccer league in the US is true.

but all i heard when the news interviewed the US team was not redemption, they talked like they wanted more of revenge. They did not show high respect on the field, didn't you see one of the US players grab the japanese by the waist and pushing her down?

The US got like 3 yellow cards and a red card. While the Japanese got none. I was highly disappointed in the US for playing so unfair. Japan was truly a team and showed a lot of sportsmanship.
