I would guess it has to do with that new summer springs game. You can apparently get gold when you level up in it.

Yes, I can confirm it has to do with Summer Springs as I've gotten those message while playing it and "cashing out"

u have to click the bar under the game to recieve ur reward but only as u level up

After you level, you should see the gold claim button (it appears under the game, for me). You click that and it will ask for your password once (which is safe), and then your accounts will be linked, just from Summer Springs to Gaia.
