I wonder if when the time expires the items are going to back to the inventory or is the time frozzen in a some kind of way?

I'd say time is frozen, because they wouldn't let the marketplace continue to function as usual when it's down like this, the items might get eaten, and then there' be a lot more trouble for the admins to worry about.
