500 x 500 pixels and less than 100 kb is size.

That is correct. 500 x 500 is the maximum size allowed.

Right-click the image, and click the "properties" option. That'll bring up information about the image, including it's filesize.

EDIT: Fixed a typo.

EDIT AGAIN: Fixed another one.
