Whenever I try to post it tells me my message has been entered successfully, but then it tells me that the topic is being archived and my posts don't show up...is this just lag or should I contact a mod?

It's just lag. Within 2-3 minutes, your posts should show up. So they do go through, it's just not instantaneous like it should be.
