You can always start a quest thread in the charity/quest forum. That's what I'm doing to get the more expensive items for my dream avi. Also, Booty Grab is a good way of getting gold.

Sometimes, if they feel generous. But you shouldn't beg for donations though (not saying you are XD don't get mad plz), it tends to put people off helping.
