What about a clockwork sword? It would be a large sword with a bunch of gears on it.

... wait. I know steampunk is fantasy, but why in the blue hell would someone make a clockwork SWORD? Swords are already in fine use, they wouldn't need to waste materials on faffing it up.

Now clockwork machinated weapons makes more sense, like in Girl Genius. Yes, I present unto you, the reader of this post, a brilliantly written and beautifully drawn steampunk webcomic, completely free to read, with tons of examples of steampulp/punk workings.

I think you guys would like this very much :D

A lot of reasons. In my favorite Steampunk Fantasy game, there were two major examples of this; The Clockwork Dagger and the Electrified Sword. The former was a dagger which reacted to the pressure of being jammed into something by pumping the blade in even deeper, causing much more damage than a blade alone, and the latter was a blade which had been fitted with electrical equipment, and had had its handle insulated (I imagine). The sword gave electrical damage. Of course one could simply do that with magic, but they could also do it with science, so why the feck not?

Ah, a very good answer. Thank you. I get it now.
... I'd like me one of those clockwork daggers.

I'm personally hoping for a Tesla Rod - a staff-like weapon which would fire bolts of electricity as well as electrifying by touch. (Or at least that would be how it worked ICly, though I know that it won't work that way in the BS.)

Datamancers latest project may be worth a look (btw, he made both the laptop and computer you posted), seeing as most steampunkers have their own 'signature' cane, he's working on his own one right now. (i am too but the materials for my ideas are hard to come by in a backwater place like this) his is going to be a tesla cane.

it will have one of those plasma balls you see around on top, meaning it reacts to his touch, and he's making it so that there are two retractible electrode prongs that extend from within the rubber foot at the bottom end, which would act as an effective shocking weapon.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

Very old game, but beautiful in every way - and I've heard that it's possible to beat the game without ever swinging a sword or pulling a trigger. (Indeed, I actually DID manage to beat the boss by convincing him that he wasn't looking for the deaths of others, but for his own death - that is, for peace).

It's Steampunk Fantasy - Elves, Magick, even a few descendants of Dragons if you look around, but the era is quickly becoming one of technology, and magick types tend to be a bit bitter outside of the one truly magical city.

An interesting point of it is that Magick and Technology are opposing forces. A truly knowledgeable Engineer throws off an aura that strengthens the laws of physics, causing spellwork in some cases to fail, and by the same token, a powerful Mage's presence often causes machinery to break down, as it twists and contorts the same laws. Magic works by twisting laws of the world, while technology works BECAUSE of those laws, so the two seem unable to coexist within one object, and indeed, within one society they often have trouble as well.
heart Brilliant Idea!!! heart
I would love to see some more top hats.
mini top hats, different colored top hats, top hats with ribbons, top hats with bows...you get the idea.
I'm a bit top hatly obsessed and the two we (now) have just aren't enough
yesyesyesyes. D;

More corsets would be nice. Also, we need skirts that don't bend out at a weird angle like the French ones do...

OH! And more top hats... heart

I was gonna suggest we need more Derby caps. (Bowlers, they're also called.) Also, another suggestion; We need corsets as a vest-layer. Some people want to wear them over a shirt.
Oooh! Here's a thought:

Clockwork pets.
clockwork pets sounds cool XD
I wouldlove to see more Victorian Items!
