I kinda would rather they didn't, but I was also kinda against the Michael Jackson tribute item as well.

There are lots of people who've died over the years, some famous, others less so. It's kinda unfair to pick and choose who was important enough to warrant such items, and who isn't.

There wasn't a tribute when Gerry Rafferty died, or Harry Morgan, or Corey Haim, or Jeff Conaway, or Andrew Koenig. Too obscure? How about Andy Rooney, Bill Keane, Peter Falk, Peter Graves? Still too obscure? Elizabeth Taylor, Randy Savage, Leslie Neilson, Tony Curtis, Gary Coleman, Dennis Hopper... and these are just people I like, there's a lot more that I'm sure others cared very much for.

So, how do you decide who's worthy? I honestly think they just shouldn't, but that's my opinion.

I don't even know half of the people you mention above.
But in my country almost everyone knows Whitney Houston.

Why? Her "I will always love you" song, her crack addiction and the abuse from Bobby Brown is all that nearly everyone care to know about her. And even if we did get and item; what the hell would that item be?

All of this but especially the bolded!

Exactly. I doubt most people can even name more than three of her songs, and the abusive relationship pretty much became her whole story.
Plus she's not exactly known for doing anything really memorable on stage, as far as I can tell. No crazy costumes, nothing particularly theatrical about her concerts, zip.

How in the living ******** do you make an item out of that?

....I dun even know who this person is....

On the 11th my grandma took the time to explain to me who the heck she was based upon what she saw on the news ^^"

Maybe I should raid the google before I get trolled for such an "atrocious" response as proclaiming that I don't know this person due to my preferred genre .3.

My Opinion:

When a tribute item comes out it's not at the whim of the users.
If an artist at Gaia is so moved at a celebrity's death then they will find a way to put out an item. And probably it's done in their 'free time'.

In addition, I think it's a pleasant surprise and we really shouldn't expect it for every celebrity just because Michael Jackson and Bill Gates got this treatment.
