No offense but...

talk2hand Don't compare those two in anything. I like Winehouse's music, but Houston had a perfect voice...

They both had beautiful voices.
and they both had nasty addictions to drugs, so yeah they died, but its their fault, and neither deserve a tribute item for being addicted to nasty drugs.

Winehouse was famous for how long? While houston was famous for decades? Drugs or no drugs... that's not who they were about. That's not what made them famous. If i go out and do a bunch of drugs, that does not make me famous. That makes me stupid. However, if i go and use a talent that makes me famous, that's what makes me famous. The drugs are usually side effects of the stresses of life. Even average people use drugs like that, not that i condone it, it's just a fact.

If Houston gets a tribute, i would hope it's something to commemorate her wonderful voice (another powerful singing face would be interesting), or maybe a liking of her being held in our avatars arms (totally not from teh bodyguard). ^^;

EHEM , Drugs pretty much did put her back in the spot thou. Like i'm sure all of you people didn't give 3 Shits about her 2 weeks ago when she was alive. and now that she's dead you guy's are totally all over her , just like everyone was for Amy , and MJ. Yet MJ could be remembered by everyone because he was still relevant two weeks before he died.

._. I agree. Kinda wish there was a "famous person tribute" thread, where someone just recommends a person, and anything that's not just a name of a person (and maybe a neutral reason) gets removed u.u, and then that person's item gets made if they're requested enough...or something...

God, who pissed in everyone's Cheerios today? Someone wants an item of a now deceased singer. No need to jump at their throat over it. Learn some manners and be a little more polite.

Myself, I couldn't care much either way. Never really listened to her music. But free items are always fun, if the artists have time and inspiration.

They haven't even gotten her body to the medical examiner's yet because they can't get it outside of the Beverly Hilton because of Clive Davis' night before the Grammy's party and people are clamoring for an item. If you read the fine print of the OP you'd see that she made the thread mostly to be first with the idea. Had nothing to do with being sad she's gone and wanted to remember her from the best years of her career.

At least let them be able to get her body out of the Beverly Hilton first before we go asking if Gaia's going to make something to honor her memory. However, I'm not all that certain she inspired or touched any of the staff in a fashion that would warrant a tribute item the way Jobs, MJ, the Japanese animation director, and the video game designer did.

No , we don’t need a tribute item every time a celebrity dies. It was only announced an short time ago she died and Gaia made the tribute item because MJ influenced them and they wanted to.

If they want to make an item for her they will but suggesting it so soon after her death is greedy.

This thread has "in bad taste" written all over it. Might not have been your intention but if I didn't know any better these threads are starting to sound like "excuses to have another item" and not "wanting a tribute item for memory/mourning/etc purposes".

I wonder if we'd get more tribute items if we stopped asking for them *cough*proverbial/what seems like moments*cough* after someone's death...

It's sad to see her pass away, but I don't think an item is needed. What kind of poses or what kind of item can it be in that case? I'm going to go out on a limb and say not to many people would know who she was, she did have a good voice yes, but not to many of the users (Mostly youngens) Might have never listen to her music, and if they did heard of her name, they might only know about her drug habits.

This, if they make an item, this is what I'd like to see. Yes Dolly Parton was the original singer, but Whitney Houston certainly turned the song into her's. Either this or just a collection of some of the lyrics would be nice.

i don't get why people are so against celebrity tribute requests post-death. it's natural for people who are fans of older artists to want to express their support for celebrities after hearing such tragic news.

tasteless? maybe. but people really want these things and i think it's a little touching to want to show support.

she was pretty big in the 90s and i'm sure there are some gaia artists who grew up with her newer stuff too. i remember 'heartbreak hotel' spread like wildfire amongst my friends when it came out, when i was in elementary school rofl .

I'll just say what I said (or maybe thought) in the Amy Winehouse and other tribute threads - there's nothing wrong with asking, but in the end it's up to the artists and we will have to make peace with that. Not everyone can be remembered in pixels nor needs to be, and I'm sure Whitney would be honored by the fact that you think of her so highly.
