I just started using Towns 2 today, and I've noticed a couple issues right off the bat.
1 ) I think the avatar moves a bit slowly. Maybe make this movement a bit faster?
2 ) A tutorial would be an excellent idea. I got there and had no idea what I was doing. Fortunately a user was kind enough to show me how to work everything.
3 ) When I reached a neighborhood, I wandered around for a bit. I found trash collecting to be fine, however the trees, rocks, and shrubs were unsearchable. The only gold collection that worked, was from the trash bins.
Other than that, I think it's totally fine. The UI looks friendly, and I had no issues other than the ones listed.
I have a problem with picking up some flowers and trash?
First of all, it's quite difficult in general to click the 'sweet spot' of the flowers. It seems you have to click the very base of the flower stem or you aren't able to pick it.
And second, sometimes I can see trash or flowers and I can't pick it up. This always seems to happen when I'm above a house, so I'm guessing this is a layering issue.
What would be the possibility of adding the explore feature to the transit stands in the four town neighborhoods? As of right now when you click on the transit stands the transit system for each of the four towns takes you back to the docks in Gambino and nowhere else. In order for people to get around to the four different towns for trash, bug, and flower collecting they either have to bookmark a neighborhood in each of the four towns or keep going back to the docks in order to get the explore function on the water taxi. A current discussion in the GCD on trash and bug collecting in Towns 2 versus Original Towns brought up this concern. Because it would be quite helpful to those who spend a lot of time collecting bugs and flowers to be able to have the option of exploring a different neighborhood in the town they're in or another town directly from the neighborhood they're currently in.
Is this something you're considering as you expand Towns 2 and add in places like Barton, Durem, and Aekea and put them on the list at the Transit stands or will the only option at the transit stands be to go back to Gambino and have to take the Water Taxi to get to any of the four towns when all of them are available?
Can landlord privileges be taken away? Given to someone else? Co-exist with another user?
I ask these questions because I received a PM notice from Admin someone else living in a neighborhood I created seems to have left and another user living in the neighborhood has been given landlord rights. Yet, my smart phone states I remain the landlord.
I am a bit befuddle by these circumstances. Would you be so kind as to explain what has happened?
@Tea Shop Zuko: I agree with having more options as far as lighting goes. Atmosphere in housing has always interested me ever since the original Gaia Homes :]
@codemonkey: I'm not sure if anyone's pointed this out yet, but one thing that's very noticeable if you look at the top of your avatar every time you click somewhere and move in Towns 2/Rally/Hollywood is that your avatar sort of 'snaps' from being slightly higher up to being in the centered position you actually clicked.
Towns 1 is more exact whenever you click/move; you can see your avatar's position stay smooth and not snap anywhere.
I've noticed that if you go to your neighborhood through the bookmarked favorites option, it takes you to a different "layer" than if you go to your neighborhood the long way. This makes meeting up with friends at your house confusing.
Will we be getting more options for our lighting? The effects are very different now and the appearance has an impact on atmosphere.
Inside the spoiler are comparison pictures of my House before and after the change.
This is my house before the transition to Towns 2. It had this appearance regardless of day or night, because in the House Editor the "omnipresent" light of the room was turned off, the individual lamps manually turned on. The glow is also much warmer.
This is my house now, at night. (During the day, the "omnipresent" light turns on automatically) The light is much more white and harsh than before, which in my case causes the tea shop to lose its previous restaurant atmosphere.
When in Towns 2 (not Home Editor), I can manually mute the lights a little bit to look like this.
Some people might prefer this type of lighting, but I would like more options, especially concerning the automatic omnipresent light during the day.
I hope this isn't a lot of extra trouble to do, because I miss the option to give your house a continuously dark, yet warm glowy look.
I just started using Towns 2. I got a house, but I have no idea how to go to it. I'm in my neighborhood, but I don't know how to get to my house. I'm not sure if I can see my house. I can't see anyway to go inside of any of the buildings. Help please!
Did you place your home in Durem by any chance? If so you may need to use the elevator between the buildings. When I placed mine in Durem, I found it to be on the 4th floor on the left side. If you have your home in a different neighborhood however, then I'm not quite sure what's going on here. I apologize if this is not the issue. And hope that it is soon figured out, good luck.

If you already placed your home in a neighbourhood , just hover your mouse in front of the door you will see a faded blue arrow, click on it and the process to get inside will begin.
I have no idea how to find my house. Also, I can't move as far as other users or talk to them. What's going on?
I've no idea what you mean. Can you explain further?
When I'm walking around in towns, i can see other users walking off screen in every direction, but I can't follow. I'm stuck in one small area. I also can't type anything. I don't see a box to type into when I'm in towns.
Did you by any chance enter by the housing link? If so your window may be the wrong size. It should be fixed soon. Try entering with the link from the world map.

Whoops! sweatdrop Sorry about that! Last night, I ran a little experiment with a friend who tried to come to my neighborhood, and I never saw her either in my neighborhood or in my house, even though she told me over IM that she was there. I'm glad that this issue is being resolved!
This should be the case now. If not, something went wrong. The houses and neighborhoods are not instanced (or layered) like towns or rally.
Does this mean that, in a neighborhood, two people can be there and not see each other? If so, is there any way of changing this in the future so that people in the same neighborhood can all interact?
