Isn't flaming against Gaia rules?
Then why is Gaia encouraging use of name calling?
Calling Santa Claus fatty in the story sure helps for the humor of it and for the plot I'm sure but, to expose the younger children on this site to it seems kind of hypocritical doesn't it?
I mean why get someone in trouble and lecture them on how bad flaming is if you yourself aren't going to follow your own rules?
I mean I can handle pretty much anything really but, some others may not be able to.
I really hope Gaia, that after this storyline you don't get anyone introuble for flaming or spamming someone.

I think the story is a bit different than that. The bunny did get kicked in the face for teasing, afterall. And it's just a story.

In the storyline, it is two imaginary characters talking/flaming each other--no one's feelings can be hurt because the individuals do not exist. (and truthfully, how fun would it be if everyone got along, held hands and sang kumbaya?)

However, when people flame each other, they hurt peoples' feelings and detract from the fun of Gaia--that is why people aren't allowed to do it.

Since the site is PG-13, the users are expected to know that the cartoons are not real and their example is not to be followed.

Ok so there is the fact that they are indeed cartoons clearly they are but, the entire site's made up from cartoons. techniquely the "Gaian" you flame is just a cartoon when you look at it. but, it still does encourage flaming because there still is flaming. They still call eachother names. I don't know, I just some how think I am not the only one to see it like this. If the majority of people can see that they are just cartoons and it's not real life then great. I don't at all have a problem with it. It is a good point.

calling someone a fatty isn't against Gaia's rules. you have a very watered down definition of flaming is you think that the things that were said in the manga were flaming. There is a difference between calling someone astpud ignorant fattass whore and a fatty, and that is the line that's drawn on a site that supports free speech and, let's say, has a large portion of assholes on rice (flaming sushi! yay!)

point being, yes, the manga wasn't your average version of a chirstmas tale, it wasn't ToS breaking, either.

stare Look, in most kiddy shows they alway show a bullie picking on the weaker kid, the the weaker kid ither gets revenge, or a bigger, much cooler character rescues them.

So people please stop picking on gaiaonline for stuff thats been around for ages.
Gaiaonline was not telling kids "hey, call people fat it's ok" but actully telling them "If your mean your going to get punnished".

If people, specialy ones with children, LOOK for the morals/ karma in things BEFORE they start baming sorces of entertainment we would have this annoying problem of people blaming things on a website/T.V or anything they use to baby sit because their too dam lazy to tech their children, and look after them their selves.

I think you're seeing too much into the storyline. Gaia is not being hypocrites. Its just a damn story. People pick on people all the time (not saying it's right) and the bullied person always overcomes and prevails, much like what happened in this story. It happens in real life, in most cases. But it was not flaming. It was calling him "fat" or just pointing out the obvious. Dont make a pond into an ocean.

ok no one is talking about denial here. And if you where insulted by something someone said wouldn't you put them in thier place for it? or would you just take it?
And to tell someone that they are fat isn't the way to go. You are probably a lonely person underneath it all if that is how you go through life treating people like that. I wouldn't doubt that you don't have many true friends. They'd probably screw you over in a heart beat.
