Some Girly Ideas(Strong enough for a man)

Good idea Sweet. I'd like to see some more eye styles myself I just have never quite found one that suits me (thry are all too cute) and so I always wear this mask. I'm saving for the other eyes but even then I'm not sure how well they'll suit me sad .

On the topic of masks, if no new eyes are in the works how about some masks? Preferably ones that block out the eyes (or maybe have the option to show or block the eyes). I was thinking some Venitian masks would be neat and perhaps even some masquerade clothing to go with them.

I could see a lot of the stuff being worked into male and female forms. top hats and tuxes, certainly masks would be unisex.
the guys on here just have to understand that fashion is much more of a female industry. go to a fancy party and every guy is wearing subtle variations of the same thing while women are wearing all kinds of different patterns and colors. also things are pretty much going to be "girly" or unisex, if us girls like an item we will not hesitate to cross dress

And feminists still don't aknowledge the lack of freedom of expression males have, not to mention social and govermental legislations are slow to adapt to that fact. And it's not just formal and professional clothing, but social everyday clothing too. but that's off topic.

Overall the items and styles being suggested are positively wonderfull, but with the handicaps that male's have in modern society special considerations have to be taken in. It's almost required to make male items 'Male Only' as in the past that's not an acceptable solution at this point.

I pray (and personally strive for) the day that men and women actually are equal on all fields and are subject to the same problems and benifits that befall others where individual morals aren't forced on others.

Yes on males can crossdress just as they can in real life, but at the same time are subject to the same liabilities that they live with and that indirectly affects the social dynamics of Gaia. Meaning if males have certain expectations to meet in real life, they are going to expect to meet them here on Gaia as well and demand it otherwise they will feel uncomfortable. Males can crossdress all they want on Gaia, but there are guys who will absolutely refuse, just as girls might refuse to wear skirts entirely as well and such.

Despite popular opinion, it's not just a simple matter of this being 'teh enturnetz' and people being free to do whatever they want whenever they want.

And you are correct at what feminists advocate, even the majority adbides by that, but the majority neglects the freedoms of males. I don't see any feminists standing up for freedom of expression for males even though the women's department in most clothing stores are at least twice the size of the mens. Just look at Walmart. FYI I don't have personal beef with feminists, I have personal beef with a wide group of people, I'm just explaining my observations and personal studies.

Actually, at this point I do think this is relevant (at least from what I've interpreted from your post), and will post my answer here. PM your reply if you don't want to post it here.

People on Gaia crossdress, and unlike "real life", I have yet to see a largely negative reaction to it. Basically, people are more free to cross-dress here than in real life. Being on "teh intrawebs" does, indeed affect things. It is a completely different culture, and from what I have seen, people ARE more free to do what they want.

If someone doesn't want to wear feminine items, this is their choice. If other's doing so makes them uncomfortable, tough cakes.Yes, they are affected by their enviroment, culture, and ect. to feel this way, but so is everything else. From what I have seen, the number of people bothered by it on Gaia are vastly outnumbered by those who do not. Gaia should make items people want, not prance around stupid social stigma's that most people on "teh intrawebs" don't even care about. If anything, making them and male avatars wearing them will only help destroy the negative stigma attached to male cross-dressing.

Lol oh man...I'm away from you gkids for a little while and look what happens. lol heart I had no idea when I created this thread that I was making such a political statement. However here are my own views biggrin .

This May be called "Girly Ideas" but that doesn't mean girls only and I'm glad we have a man in the mix so welcome Seph and I'm glad you like the ideas kicking around and we'd love to hear some of your own.

As for cross dressing I LOVE IT!!!! any form of it...I love men wearing skirts, guyliner, nailpolish. All the way up to full on drag queens and transexuals. And as for women we can push the boundries too (Drag kings anyone?) so maybe here is an idea for gaia....full on drag!!! I guess they'd have to figure it out.



I guess what I'm saying is be you man or woman, gay, straight, bi or aesexual, crossdresser, transexual, whatever, be it all out!!! Just be the best person you cand be. And also make the cuteset avvie you can make, and if you can't then make your item suggestions here!!! heart

Anyway, I'm pretty sure we don't need a set that specifically caters to such a small group.

I really think this is a place for constructive ideas so I'd rather if people don't have something consructive to say or have an idea of their own to just take it to another thread. Okay so I've been trying to find a scanner FAST so I can enter this damn item contest, hopefully I'll be able to do it because I think I have some cute ideas wink Tomorrow is the cut off eep!!! Anyways...

I have been thinking...I tend to do that. Disney has done it, American McGee has done it I blame that damed Jefferson Airplane song for starting me on the idea, yes kids I'm talking about Alice! I feel it's time to see Gaia's take on this classic. It could even be a whole event with "Eat me" cookies that make your avvie smaller and "Drink me" potions that make your avvie bigger. There could be Hookahs that do something unexpected and who among us wouldn't want a Cheshire cat by their side? One of the poses you could have with it is to just equip it's giant grin over your mouth, how fun would that be?

So anyone have any comments or ideas of their own to add?

Dolls are creepy and I'm going to say that if you added a male counterpart for them the items you proposed would be be easier to accept. For males: kung fu grip could be fun give them huge muscular arms, and the puppet strings would be fun and unisex. Then you could have your giant creepy doll eyes.

EEEPPPP I don't like giant creepy doll eyes!!!! lol...but yes I like your ideas a lot. I like my dolls less is a "baby" way and more in a "broken and sinister" way, "womanly" or "realistic" BJDs tend to be thin and waiflike more like people and less like great staring things. Take Volks for example with their super dolfie (which is fricken HUGE btw).
