Smoke ban, simply counterproductive. My reasoned argument.

I don't smoke IRL and due to health concerns - I'm an asthmatic - I'd never even consider it, but I personally happen to think that on a purely visual level it often looks interesting, and the Long Drag has been one of my favorite items for a while. It doesn't take a lot of provocation for me to want to use it. As regards today's decision, my avatar's been the same for days, and I didn't have the Long Drag equipped until after I saw this announcement - I'd previously decided it didn't really go. Now? It's on and it's staying on, because I really can be petty like that. Proving your point admirably.

Incidentally, my mule account has a permanent avatar and it has a Long Drag equipped too.

I know, same here, now I'm going to cherish my little "Carol of Ebenezer" for the rest of my Gaia-hood. XD

I mean it would be good if they had just got rid of them in the shops and just not said anything about it and not soul binding the items, but now Gaia just F-ed up their chances at what they were trying to achieve big-time. rolleyes

If they ever make the stuff unequipable, I'll just find something that looks like a smoke. XD

Absolutely, OP. My thought on seeing that announcement -- after the reflexive "What a crock of s**t; I wonder who sued them" -- was that they just made smoking paraphernalia some of the most leet items on the site.

Personally, I think they should unsoulbind them, make them more expensive in the shops, and change the name/description of said items.

Pretty much Tax them like you do real tobacco products, and make them sound unappealing.

However, you really are right -- I've never really used the tobacco items on my main account before, but I use them for my Roleplay mules. This happens, and suddenly I'm digging through my inventory seeing if I have anything other then the Ebenezer to put on.
