I'm glad I found this thread. I'm posting from my third mule account...the first two, I got the slow down hotshot warning upon entering the password to log on. I finally had to move to a desktop computer, and use a different browser. This is ridiculous. scream

Oh hey, you buy my inks a lot... I recognize your username. I'm guessing you get message while you're vending, right? sweatdrop (I know that I do...)

And yeah, it is ridiculous. I'm still waiting for some information about it... anything. gonk

I have a speedy internet connection, and I was doing a lot of refreshing in the marketplace yesterday to try to catch good prices for the EI's I wanted... I haven't gotten that warning. I haven't been on much lately, though, so maybe I just haven't gotten it YET. I agree that it is pretty scary, though. I wouldn't want to get perma-banned for playing with my avatar. confused

EDIT: Wait, you had to use a different browser? Is there a possibility that the browser affects it? What do you use?

It's an anti-bot measure, I think. It's a pity that it often randomly bans human users.

I've never gotten blocked but it sounds like an issue. They should come up with a better system.

i'd never received that message before this year. and for me it's because of the avatar dressing and bid wars. maybe gaia can add a way to tell whether we are humans or bots? i have no idea whether that is possible or not though... maybe having to type in one of those verification codes to prove we are human? i wouldn't think that a bot could do that. i just know every time i get one of those messages now my heart just about stops. i've spent a lot of time earning gold through the MP and even purchased items from the cash shop so ANY chance of me losing my account just breaks my heart. i heart gaia so much and wouldn't want to lose her... *hugs gaia tightly*

It also happens to people who vend a lot, as they're trying to work quickly.
I think that's the biggest issue here. People who use noscript and are quickly buying out cheap items and selling them back for a higher value (artificial inflators) are probably getting this the worst.

I've been vending a lot lately and I don't do any of that. sweatdrop

I've gotten quite a few of those the past few days.

I do admit that I have fast internet, and that I'm a vendor. But I've never gotten those "Slow, down, hotshot" page until quite recently. They just blossomed out of nowhere. So I contacted a mod about this and here's what he said:

BlueAltitude
I'm not sure if you get banned or not. I think that if you do flood a lot it might but you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Just take it one at a time and use only one window.

But the problem is, I HAVE been using one window and the page STILL pops up. I sent another PM to Blue Altitude and he is yet to reply.

I only use one window, too. I don't think a moderator's going to have much information about this, though... sweatdrop

I hate how it's such a mystery.

Hey, it's Nessicrust. My other account got that page yet again. gonk If Gaia happens to ban ANY of my accounts I'm quitting for good.

(At least I got good deals before I got SDBed.)

I'd love some artz.

I think I sort of figured out a way to avoid this.

The past hour or so I've been refreshing the vending page at eight-second intervals. The result? No SDB for an hour. Also, SDBs (Slow Down Bans) tend to reset at midnight PST, so if I get one today, this one lasts 30 seconds rather than an hour like yesterday. Not sure it can work with everyone, but you can try.

EDIT: Arrggghhh, just got one. Good thing it lasted pretty short. sweatdrop

Current quest? 35m/50m
