S'fine to me. I've seen the changes on this site go through enough times to know that this will eventually fade. We asked for updates to the old shopkeeps, we got updates to the old shopkeeps. This is what came of it. And I think that the change to body structure is hardly worth mention; they mostly look the same to me. I think they were always that way, the clothes make them look a little different, and it's pretty much just post-change baww.

The only problem I have is that Ruby needs to pay a little less attention to her own, pretty self and start dishing some mothering out to poor Peyo. He's growing up without any muscle tone. Are you feeding that child his vegetables, Ruby? Are you? Give Ruby some bags under her eyes, put some meat on Peyo's bones. All I'm saying.

I Love the new art. =/
I like the new art too.
I like Ian´s new clothes (even his hat^^), but Rufus looks like a "Circus-cat" somehow, although this has a funny touch ^^
Louis look great and somehow like Lestat in the first part of the "Interview with the vampire" Movie *.* (bwt: The "Sparkling-joke" xDDD)
Sasha´s new clothes fits her, they are better than the other ones (my opinion).
(It´s true that the female NPC´s look thin, but the where thin before too)
Peyo is a little grown up and is as cute as before.
But there are 2 things I can´t get along with:
1.Ruby´s facial expression....it looks weird somehow..like she is planning something (in a bad way), I hope you understand what I mean.
2.The other NPC´s need an update too...but may it´s plannend for later.

God damn its not anorexia.
Its the artists style!
its how they draw!

DX

a good example of this is an anime called Nana.
the characters all look 6-6 and weigh maybe 110 pounds.
its the style of the art.
Moria has curves,
Her body is just a little longer so they are not as accented
Having skinny NPC's is one thing. It's fine in moderation, but when ALL the female NPC's look borderline anorexic then it's a problem. Other websites and different forms of media are horrible for portraying an unrealistic and unobtainable image of women (and men as well ... usually not as blatantly though), I just find it sad that it's here on Gaia too.

I would love to see some variety in our NPC's and have many different types of people portrayed.
I would like to add my opinion. Just because an artist has a particular style does not mean the artist is confined to making all of the women skinnier and more busty. Styles can be modified. It is not hard to make someone look bigger or smaller. If someone's look calls for more substance, it is possible to include.
Anyway, I definitely think Ruby looks much less like a whore now that her chest actually fits in what she's wearing. But, for various reasons, my favorite change has to be Vanessa. The shading, the new, purple shirt, the facial expressions... There's a ton about her that makes me happy for her change.

Moira seriously needs a bra (she looks... droopy). And some shading. And maybe some nutrition. She was much better the other way. I am not going to complain about Sasha because she was already crazily skinny.

And... Ian looks weird. So does Rufus, but I care much less about him.

[Let me coat your strawberries in my sweet white chocolate!]

I think I can adapt to the new shop art, but I think the women could use a little meat on their bones.
They are kind of looking malnourished and I just want them to have a healthy body.

While I do agree that the female shop updates look a little thinner than they do, I'm just glad they didn't mess with my Josie and my Dr. Singh's awesome, drool-worthy curves. talk2hand

No they should NOT be ashamed just because YOU can't tollerate change, this is a rare ocassion so I am going to say suck it up and deal with it, their not changing it back.
As a member from early 2004, I have to say that I'm completely disgusted with the way this site is running itself into the ground.

I loved the old shops, and I loved the old artwork. Now everything is just a ******** cartoon.

It seems Viacom has finally gotten its claws into Gaia.
VIACOM DOES NOT OWN GAIA!! Viacom has nothing to do with Gaia at all.

Your join date means nothing; why are you dropping it like it gives you some kind of status?

The old art was nice, but I am sure none of you will die from a change. Instead you'll get used to it and then do the same bawww routine the next time there is an update.
User ImageI have no problem with change. I don't like Vanessa or Moira's new style, but that is a personal opinion which I know not everyone shares.

Sasha, however, I am concerned about. Her outfit is beautiful, and I love her new style. Her weight, on the other hand, is concerning. She absolutely looks too skinny. Perhaps there are anime styles which have all skinny characters... but did anyone notice that Gaia isn't an anime website anymore? It's a "social teen hangout." The style should not reflect anorexic-looking anime-ish style girls.

Oh, so since I'm so skinny and with a super fast metabolism [I'm 15, 5'5, and weight 95lbs.], I'M anorexic? neutral Last time I checked, I just ate two bowls of scrambled eggs this morning.

First off, there ARE skinny girls out there who will eat tons of food a day, and NOT gain a single pound. Ever thought that NPCs could have a high metabolism or they just eat the right stuff?

Second of all, THEY'RE CARTOONS. Oh, and GAIA has ALWAYS been Anime Style. In Anime, you'll see skinny girls, with huge ******** boobs. Because Anime-Fanboys love those skinny girls.

Thirdly, they're not slutty. Sasha looked like a slut BEFORE this update. I like her look NOW. She's covered up, and looking mature.

Honestly, why bawl over some pixels? All of them look AMAZING.

I don't share your opinion that they look "amazing." I didn't say you were anorexic. But if suddenly one day you dropped 10 lbs. I would question your eating habits, because you were ALREADY small to begin with. And then to get even smaller? That is just unnecessary. Gaia is not an anime. It might possess some anime influence in style but it isn't anime, nor are the Gaia artists bound by the rules of Japanese animation.

Anime girls come in a stock size because Japan has a thinner population on average. Also it is easier to animate using the same size for all the girls. Gaia arists only have to draw ONE body for every NPC store, not thousands of frames.

@_@

Seriously.

It is art they do not have a life so they cannot "drop 10 lbs." That's just ridiculous to even try use as an argument, as they you know aren't people, they are drawings.
If your going to use that then why haven't you questioned that they have been wearing the same clothes all these years, or even better why the children haven't grown up? Or even how they stand in the same exact position and say the same things all the time. OMG, they must be some kind of robot. :0

Please. Stop acting like they are human, because they aren't.

Gaia is not an anime?? o_O Hmm, they seem to have a MANGA that revolves around Gaia and the NPC's. Oh hell, you must have missed that.

They may not be bond to anime style, but have you ever thought for a moment that all of the artist the Gaia has hired uses an "anime" style? Do you really think that there isn't a reason for that?

I'm simply stating that I've been here longer, and therefore, I was more used to the way Gaia was supposed to look, not this watered-down and Viacom-y "kid's site" look. As much as I hate to say it, Gaia is completely ignoring its older users.

Get your head out of your a** before you try to debate with the big kids.
Yeah. I see now why your JOIN DATE says '06. And the next will probably be '09, perhaps you should return to the GD where people may be impressed with your lack of argument.

Gaia listens to every one, just because you joined earlier doesn't mean that they have to listen to your opinions and toss every one else's out the window. rolleyes Elitism much?

The big kids?? LOL Yeah, ok. Come back when you've finished high school.
