I was a bit disappointed that there weren't any achievements. There might not be as many people that are into earning them anymore but I hope they make some for St. Patrick's Day or Easter.

I didn't say they were never going to do them again, of course they will, when they find the time. I said that I'd like to see some consistency in them. Every event should have at least one minor participation achievement.

That's basically my point, it's a little icon to remember the event by. You look at your achievements and you can see what events you were a part of. I'd love to display a 2k11and a 2k12 valentines day achievement on my posts in 2k13. Yet, I won't be able to since we aren't getting one.

Future Gaians might wonder, did that person miss the event that year? Well no, we didn't but there's no achievement to show for it. I know they're not a big deal but if we're going to have them period it'd be nice if they were something that was kept up on.

Mhm. Achievement-based momentos are especially appealing to me because you have to have been there to get it. Anything else -- like Vday cards, gifts, NPC photos, items -- anyone can access with a link or buy from the market for the correct amount of gold.

I wouldn't expect anyone to look at my list of achievements with the sole purpose of ticking off events that I've attended, but it would be a nice way to flaunt (hehe) my Gaian spirit if I could line up my, for instance, V-day medals I've gotten from previous years.

I love events, I don't care if the items suck. When I start up an event, I don't evaluate things and determine if the event is worth my time. I do them, I enjoy them for what they are, to me that's part of being a Gaian. If the event blows, I can just say that I took care of that sucky event and I hope the next one is better. I can't complain and give my feedback on an event if I don't participate in it.

As for the event alchemy, I love it. Everyone harps on Alchemy for being too hard (and it is) but with events we get what everyone wants, cheap, easily obtainable components to use and gain experience. Any normal event has you working to earn an item, the alchemy route is just another way of doing this.

Some people seem to b***h about event alchemy simply because it's the cool thing to do. I've yet to find an event alchemy item that was any more difficult to craft than saving for any other event item.

Well we all have our different POV. *shrugs* I don't rag on alchemy because its cool either. I generally have zero interest in it. Which is true for nearly every other avatar/forum site that has it.

One of the main reasons I want to do alchemy is to create awesome items and to get 10 more achievements. >.>
