Sticky: Looking for info on redirects to virus scanner sites

It pops up mostly when replying to forums, sometimes while PMing and selling on the MP, and once or twice while collecting Daily Chance.
I seriously doubt that this is a regional thing. Or even a browser problem. =/

2) What area of the world you're in (a rough estimate, like "Southern U.S." is fine - there's a theory it could be geographical)
3) Anything else you can think of that might help us track this down.

Sorry Hun, I already tried narrowing this one down. It's not geographical, it's happening in the US, Australia, Canada, UK... everywhere. It's not limited to browsers; got FF, IE, Chrome, MSN Explorer (didn't even know that existed). But as for anything that might help you: I've been trying to work out where it's coming from and how it might be stopped. Closest I can figure is that it comes from one of the ads that is loading a script rather then an image, and that's what's redirecting everyone. It's the only common factor to this that I can find.

Did some work with my limited resources the only thing I could come up with was this. I'm sure you guys would be able to work it out better then I would, that was just basic info I could get without hacking the site and risking my account (which is simply a joke, I'm a novice IT geek, not an expert and wouldn't even know how to hack anything). All that information is basic HTML stuff, hence why I figure it might be a starting place for one of you guys who DO know what you're doing to figure it out.

If anyone wants to contact me they're welcome to do so. As I said I'm not an expert but I'll help any way I can. If a Mod/Admin wants to they can PM me and I'll give someone my IM so we can talk about it easier. Today I downloaded AdBlock Plus for Firefox and it blocks every ad on any webpage.
This has worked for me so far.

3) Not necessarily getting re-directed to the virus scan website, but I am getting taken to fake websites everytime I try and read a PM/and or reply to a PM and in the fourms. It changes everyday like for instance today it is;

It started only when trying to post, now I’m getting it when going into the market place or collecting my daily chance. I cant just close down the tab I’m working on I have to exit out of all windows. Redirection happens once the ads are loaded on the page.

Edit: Redirection for daily chance seems to mainly be on the “My Gaia” tab.

Edit 2: Its decently one of the ads, as soon as all the url’s at the bottom of my screen are loads this thing pops up.

I'm using Firefox, I live in the south of England, and I get redirected 1) when I try to post in a forum, 2) when I view my outbox, 3) when I try to reply to a PM, 4) when I go to 'my gaia' and 'community'.

I've been getting this stupid thing to. Only since yesterday though. My friend has been getting it to.

hi i am at my wits end it always starts to download grrrr and it's not random i can't even click reply on my pm system!

i've tried blocking pop ups but as it is the same window nothing happens not even the "you are now leaving gaia" warning! also i cannot click back or close.
ummm and it's getting around all my security that only allows sites with proper certificates to load without a warning.
and oh yea (wow it happens even as i type) ok back now errrrr stressed stressed stressed stressed
what i have been trying to say is it happens to me in all of gaia not just one section even scrolling has done it crying if i can give more info i would be happy to. it's crazy how it loads as windows when i am on a mac

I tried to stop it, but it aint...The only way i managed to get here was to spam the stop loading button...This is incredibly annoying, and actually making me avoid Gaia while this is happening.

I'm using Firefox, and I'm in East Scotland.
Once you download that virus, it's bloody annoying to get rid of.
