this has happened a few times with me, usually when going to the main shops, my Gaia (such as my inventory or when i change my avatar) or when playing on the Halloween event.

i use Firefox 3.4.5
i live in the south central part of the US. (Texas)

I am in Northern Kentucky.
I use Firefox.
This has happened to me while surfing the MP, surfing forums.

It most recently happened to me a couple minutes ago and I was replying in the Exchange forum. It is 11:43PM EST.

Just happened to me while looking at a thread in the Aquarium. I didn't look and see what the name of the website was...

Northern US...yes, I am reporting a virus redirect site once again.

This time, I'm using Internet Explorer 8.

It happened when I was poking around in the Marketplace.

I am using Firefox, I have no idea what version.
I am from Illinois.
I was on the main forum page attempting to access My Posts.

This is the virus scanner site it takes me to is System Veteran.

It's a fake anti-virus program and spyware, which I'm not too happy I get from accessing my favorite site. Make it go away.

I got it while reading a thread a friend made.

I'm using firefox have no clue which version...
I live somewhere in Florida

I heard something go Hello and then I was redirected.

This happened not even 10 minutes ago.
And I've had it happen MANY times before today.

I'm hoping this gets solved soon.

Happened again just a minute ago. Had to close down and come back.

1- IE 7
2- Pacific Northwest
3- Was browsing My Avatar. Got a partial site name before the window changed. Something like "trustedantivirus[something].com" ... and it didn't have a www prefix. Then the window turned to an Okay/Cancel box.

1) What browser you're using?
Internet Explorer. Im not sure which one but it is one of the newest versions.

2) What area of the world you're in (a rough estimate, like "Southern U.S." is fine - there's a theory it could be geographical)

3) Anything else you can think of that might help us track this down.
It was on the My Gaia page. I cant remeber much after. It lead to a site that had a pop-up stating I needed better virus scanner software or something

the Virus Scanner Ads follow these other ads as a solution to rid the offending "pop up" ads..
Which is much like the "scam that the "home security/alarm installer" did back in the 1980's ..

he broke into people homes .. then came back to sell them the "home alarm system" ..
