Except that the CEO in question has a long record of driving up profits by severely reducing both quantity and quality of service, milking the company dry, then tossing the dessicated husk of a corpse in the dumpster out back while moving on to his next blatant cash grab. Sure, he knows what he's doing, but what he's doing isn't to the overall long-term benefit of either the company or its customers.
