You know what's one thing I've noticed about alchemy?

No one on the Gaia Staff cares. It's out there, they did their best, and they probably think we're ungrateful little snots for complaining and whining about their perfect, precious little idea.

Dear Gaia, if I'm wrong, please say so. If you don't, then we'll all know I'm right -- or at the very least, that you don't give enough of a crap about us to even pay attention to this "feedback" thread.

Besides the random chance of the components, I would like to see more alternate options for some formulas.
Also, it would be good if the alchemist case, philosopher cache and golden gift box were able to use inks. I mean since ink is made of bugs and bugs can be made into ink, why not use ink to substitute the bugs?

I just want the alchemy exclusive cats to be easier to obtain and make. Not every cat item needs to be a insanely rare expensive item.

Alchemy, here's my beefs with it.

It's really stupid that we can't break down an alchemy item to get the original ingredients back, I mean it's like point of no return.

It is also extremely stupid that we are giving up rare CIs for a single posed RECOLOR.. [The keido series for example] Like, why not just recolor the whole item? Why would you even consider doing this?

I'm disappointed in Alchemy.

I loved the premise. I loved the idea of having to invest hard work and some gold and items in it.

But after trying it, with the way it is now, I just can't keep doing it. I'm not willing to invest my entire fortune in doing something that I will end up not having enough to do. I could work on alchemy and trying to buy components and parts at the current rate for the next ten years, and still not make it.

That's not a challenge, Gaia. That's not fun, or good. I want a feature that takes dedication and time. Not luck. Not extreme wealth. Good, hard work. Maybe an alchemy item that requires you to follow a series of tasks on gaia. Example: 1) Fish in Durem 100 buckets. 2) Play 100 games of wordbump to level thirty or higher. 3) Buy 100 50gold shirts from a shop. Turn that (or items obtained from doing a task x times) into an item.

Not 1) be rich, 2) be lucky, 3) become even richer.

I have to agree with you with Alchemy. It's a severe disappointment that makes me want to scream at the top of the mountains..

We need, well, an Alchemy-only DC (that doesn't take away from our current DCs) which will grant Gaians a component, a formula, a Philosopher's Cache, Alchemist's Case, or a Golden Magical Giftbox daily cat_3nodding

Not only would this bring the price of things down in the MP, because they're would be more of them, but it would increase the number of Alchemist's Cases and Philosopher's Caches being opened, thereby increasing our knowledge of what they contain too cat_3nodding

Seriously, I can't see Gaia systematically overhauling the entire Alchemy system now that several Gaians have poured vast fortunes into it in order to get to level 10, but I also think that if you don't buy and spend gCa$h regularly, as well as do some sort of vending, you cannot possibly succeed in the Alchemy system as it currently is cat_stare

Even worse, you've also got to support item genocide to really get anything of value from Alchemy (have you seen what must be sacrificed for the Aurora Kitten Star!? Gaia, you cat killing monster!) cat_crying

It's a sucking vortex out of the pocket. Leveling up by itself takes millions to accomplish. Not to mention, there are just not enough components on Gaia. Why don't they do with how ink is created? By using bugs or gathering a certain number of inks will make one color.
It would be great , like in skyrim for example to gather ingredients and level your alchemy skill by making items/potions. Like in order to make Smooth Whetstones, you could enter the alchemy shop in the towns and bring 10 this with 10 that and make one smooth whetstones.
Or just put all the alchemy items from the P. Caches in the shops. That would be nice.
It would be nice if we could simply have all the super-rare items in recipes replaced by ludicrous amounts of more obtainable items.

Yeah, I know, it would feel like a sleight against the people who have already given up said items to increase along their alchemy ranks.

But it's better to sleight them just once then give them the benefit of an easier path, than to make everyone including them suffer having to use rares again and again and again just to make items they may not even LIKE, in order to progress far enough into alchemy to get to the items they DO want.[From what I understand, some higher recipes still use items made from lower recipes, which in turn demand rare items like CI's in their creation. That's just dumb]

Ummm... but if you could break a formula back down into its components then what's to stop you from earning XP by making it right back again? You could just sit there and churn it back and forth and only need to pay out the crafting cost. And please don't suggest "maybe you only get XP the first time you make an item" because that would limit people from crafting formulas for others, not to mention that for some levels there are limited numbers of accessible craftable formulas (Level 3, I'm thinking of you!) where you absolutely need to craft duplicates.

I'd like to suggest an "Alchemist's Good Luck Charm"? Something that makes a formula's success rate go up. So "low" becomes "medium", "medium" becomes "high", or maybe even two steps for better effect and to make it more desireable, but it should probably have limited duration. Ideal impementation would probably be complicated: an added checkbox or something on the "Craft Formula" panel to say "you have one of these, do you want to use it?" but there might be simpler ways of handling it.

It costs twice the gold it did to craft the item, and breaking down doesn't give exp.. Maybe half the actual alchemy stuff but return actual equippable items. It was an idea, that's all.. I'm against this system altogether really.

Maybe you could lose XP to break it down, like twice the XP it takes to make the item so that it's a frowned upon option.

But that seems like it would be massively difficult to put into place, doesn't it? XD
You know what would be great for alchemists and the economy on here in general? Start putting alchemy related goods in Prize & Joy, alchemists have a means to earn what they want or need by something other than pleading with the uber rich that are buying EVERYTHING and inflating everything and the rest of the populace would have a good means of making gold by selling tickets.

Just a thought, but probably will never happen in a million years.
