Your robe should be golden, your robe should be perfect
Instead of this ragged concoction of thread
But may you be moved by its desperate beauty
To give us new life for we'd rather be dead
Then live in the squalor and shame of the slave
To the dance!
To the dance!

I believe Gaia is playing more towards the anime Fullmetal Alchemist (note: ALCHEMIST!), than it is any religion.
Gaia is not a religious site.
I don't see what there is to be offended by this particular item.

That's exactly why they shouldn't have it, because everyone equates it with Satan when Wicca and Paganism has no belief in Satan.
Osa Osa chan says:

Only uneducated people think they're the same. They are different and now is the perfect time to educate people about it. Instead of seeing this as offencive, see it as a chance to teach people about the true meaning.
EDIT: woo, messed that quote up >3<

But my experience is that people do not care to think differently, and even more so how they feel on a religious symbol
Really, it seems like you don't care to see it differently. It's a different symbol entirely, but you keep insisting it is not.

People will see the difference if taught. Those who don't will just stay blindly ignorant in their own little world.

If you keep insisting the Pentacle is the exact same thing as the Pentagram, then do you also insist that all who follow the ancient Indian religion of Jainism are Nazi's because their holiest symbol is a Swastika?

I also believe people have pointed out it is more of an Alchemist symbol.

As for the item itself, am I offended? No. Why should I be? It's an image. Is it mocking the way I live, or what I believe? No. I have nothing to be offended by.
The only way some of these people would even know it was used in Alchemy is from watching anime. It was used long before that, and it needs to be recconized for what it really is, not for what some cartoons show it to be.
Did I even fricking mention anime? Please stop putting words into my mouth.

I know the five-pointed star existed far before this anime you mentioned, for Paganism is an old religion of sorts. Alchemy, also is very old in it's roots. It goes back centuries.

Also, stop grouping the masses of Gaia by saying things like "people" and such. Thanks

As a past explorer of Alchemy and it's opposing, Necromancy, I would be one who could care less where people know it from. Atleast FMA actually got some of the formulas and equations correct. Yeah, that's right, I know what 'Cartoon' you speak of, but I did not explore alchemy or learn alchemy for or from that.
We know who really does know their alchemy and who doesn't, and I suspect that you wouldn't know that much because you recently thought that this was offensive in thinking that it was an inverse pentagram.
Those who really expect to participate in it are the only ones who ACTUALLY need to know what it really is.
Others can sit down and watch their anime and pretend.

Isn't the symbolism in Fullmetal Alchemist completely different than the monthly collectible?

England is commonly mistaken as "western culture".
In modern terms, it's eastern. So it's not western.

But sure! If you still live in the 1400's then yeah. It's western alright. Lemme tell ya how western. If you went any further west, you'd fall of the face of the earth! :O

According to which "modern terms"?

And where are these "modern terms" sourced?

I'm not just going to take your word for it, if that's what you're implying I do, sir.

What ******** age do you live in? neutral
He means by modern terms. AKA the mother ******** present. Not whatever twisted reality you might live in. (year 2007, just in case you can't speak "modern" english.

Actually if you do your research you might learn that the upside down crucifix does not mean Santenist worshiper. For the longest time in the old days it had a completely different meaning.

which is a Christian symbol used to denote Peter and his crucifixtion . . . Peter was crucified upside down as he did not believe he was worthy enough to be crucified right side up like his Lord, Jesus . . So he asked to be crucified upside down.

As a reuslt, the Church has used the upside down cross to designate Peter, not Christ . . . the Pope's chair has an upside down cross engraved in it as a symbol reminidng one of Peter's humility and death.

Unlike an upside down crucifix, there is nothing satanic about an upside down cross. It is a very Christian symbol.

Hehe, yep. I have to admit, though, that I expected the first topic I found bashing the presence of the inverted pentagram to be from a Christian who didn't want anything non-Christian posted on the site. Not from a self-professed Wiccan who doesn't want her own religious symbol anywhere because it offends Christians.

I'm simply asking him to cite his claim instead of sitting here making a fool of himself by calling me a cretin. Nothing wrong in suggesting constructive use of someone's time wink

Please explain to me how keeping this item out of the MC would make anyone think more positively of the Pentacle. Seriously. Because according to your view, people already associate with Satan. By putting it on the website, we're going to have countless people using it completely outside of the realm of Satanism.
I am mostly offended by the fact that it is shown upside down. and I know by the perspective of your avi, it is not but from our perspective, the one that to me that I think matters, it is upside down.

An upside down cross represents St. Peter who died in this manner. A Crucifix with a corpus of Christ should never be upside down. And that the upside down cross on the papal throne is symbolic of the "Chair of Peter".

It was only until the earlier ages when it got reverted into a Satanic symbol.

But at this point its been bastardized intot he symbol for the antichrist

Personally a cross is much more offensive than an ambiguous symbol. What kind of ******** up religeon uses a roman implement of torture as its symbol for peace and love???
